Tires OPINIONS!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I was at big o today, and I am deciding between BFG At and the BIG O Xt for a DD Grand Cherokee, in the 30" size. I would like some opinions on which I should buy, I am a big fan of BFG, have used them for years.

THe price on the BIG O XT and AT are the same, with the BFG AT being comparable to them both in price. I think if I settled on a AT tire I would get the BFG... as the BFG MT are stupid expensive right now.

I think the XT's look sweet and I can get them for the same price as the BFG AT's, These are the new style BIG O XT, they are pretty sharp tire.


Opinions? This ride will likely not see much action, more than a 3+ or maybe at the most a Hells Revenge, or Poison Spider at the max.

I am just looking for opinion on gas mileage, wear ability and if they chunk real easy.

That's exactly my reason for choosing the BFG AT's! They're a good tire, too... I like them way better than the BFG M/T's (not the new K2, the old KM?'s)

The new KM2's look like Krawler Lite's, I'd like to try them! I loved my AT's though.

I borrowed a set from BFG while I was down there and what I drove on them, I liked them... The only thing I didn't like was the sidewall is very soft. They gave me a brand new set and they were still very soft compared to my bias Claws.... But they were as grippy even when only running 12 psi of air.

But what I liked about them the most, is the highway ride is phenominal! Again, I'm basing that on my Bias Claws, which make the ride like a brick

I had bfg at's on my wrangler and i really liked them a lot. My chevy came with big o at's on them and they're fine for street driving but for what you want they're pretty mild so I'd go with one of your other choices

Personally, if I could find another set of these Durango XT things I'm running, I would LOVE another set, they're wearing like iron and grip as well as you need in a Suburban. Snow performance was robust this winter! I spent a lot of time driving on unplowed dirt roads... in frozen Wyoming.

I just chucked a set of 31" Big O AT's off my Cherokee. I replaced them with BFG AT's and I like them a lot better. I did get about 60,000 miles out of the Big O's however but the ride on them blew. Never did balance right and on a 31" tire I thought that was unusual. The BFG's just feel a lot better on the road to me.

Ya DD, Maybe flat tow my stuff to moab! Actually, the girl Im dating who it might become serious with has a 380 dollar a month car payment on a cute little car! but thats a ton of money.

She went with me to EJS in my sidekick and I talked a lot about various rides, various reasons for wanting several different rides. I had been talking a lot about wanting a Grand Cherokee 4.0 for awhile, and I found one I got a STEAL on, but she really wanted to get out of her car so she bought it, it has BFG at's on it bout 20% left, ive ran em before and I love em, reason for the poll

In short, she will be driving it as a DD and maybe flat towing ( few times a year ) my butt to moab if things develop as they have been. I plan on getting another GC for myself, Ive owned a few jeeps before, and I just don't want them for a dedicated trail rig. I do love the on road handling, and so on so on.

Shes paying 97 dollars a month on this GC Shes happy, just need to sell her super nice little Toyota Matrix XR Ill be putting it in the FS forum.

I just really wanted to know opinions on the new Big O XT, its sharp looking but I think we will get her the BFG AT

lol, I have had 3 or 4 sets of BFG at, and I seriously have never ever ever heard anyone complain about them, and the only reason I asked was I did think those New style XT for the Big O's look sweet :greg:

Ill shoot for the bfg at Wanted to see if anyone had run those new Xt's

This vehicle will be 98.9% DD

My (limited) experience with Big O tires is that they are Canadian tires ie square.
