Wasn't sure where else to put this. I "DID" want this but I already bought an XJ for my son instead of this project. I went and looked at it today. Basically, the IFS subframe hit a big rock at a pretty decent speed. I thought about maybe cutting out the subframe and re-fabbing a new one, which honestly wouldn't be bad... however, this thing makes a much better SAS candidate for somebody wanting to do something a little different. It's a neat truck and the body is in pretty good condition.

He said I could pick it up for $1300 so I did go look at it. It would be work, but definitely worth it for a crawler project or a sas'd overlander, IMO.

It was for sale by the original owner in Logan. This kid picked it up and decided it was too much work. He's really good to talk to though.

This is sweet. It will go for far more then I could fathom to pay, but it is badass. Although with all that work, why not make it a functioning 4 door instead of a faux 4th door?

I asked the same question of someone that did a suburban restoration - turns out there's no fourth door, and no fourth door frame, and they are different enough that only a handful of people have ever made a fourth door. You can't just buy a door shell and cab panel from LMC truck for the second row driver's side, you'd have to take a driver front door, section it, reduce it's overhangs after sectioning, section a front cab panel to graft in for the door frame and then figure out how to make a mirror image window track. Not worth the effort in most cases.

But if someone did take the time, it'd be pretty hecking cool.

Thats correct on the 4th door. I actually like the 3 doors. Its kinda cool. This truely is a nice ride. I would love one.
