On our last Moab trip two of the four Jeeps busted something. My niece's TJ kept blowing fuel pump fuses and the son in law's XJ had a gas tank puncture from the rear exhast clamp being shoved into the tank. We found on the TJ that her extended rear track bar bracket would smash the fuel pump wire bundle when she hit bumps and short out the pump wire. Wire splices and electrical tape fixed the problem along with moving things out of the way. Almost every lifted TJ that I have looked at since has the same possible problem, especially if the bump stops aren't extended enough or the wires aren't moved out of the way. Her bracket hit hard enough to poke a hole in the floor.
The gas tank puncture on the xj was fixed with a bar of hand soad that I smeared into the holes then covered with duct tape. It was supposed to get us back to town but lasted fine till we got home.
