Good, but won't rave about it as much as the rest.
Lots of fun action, not much else in the way of plot, character development etc.
This is exactly why (almost) everyone is so happy and relieved with the movie.
Most producers would put a heavy spin on the story, like maverick needs to learn his vulnerabilities, or war with Russia isn’t settled with planes, or that he’s actually struggling with homoerotic feelings from the first film.
Nope. Tom Cruise has the
balls to say he’s simply going to just replay Maverick, 36 years later, who is STILL the best, while representing the US military, which is also STILL the best, to the tune of being able to take down 5th gen fighter planes with a janky f14 and taking out the Death Star with middle fingers raised, all while blasting ’danger zone’.
Sometimes it’s awesome to just do awesome stuff in a movie.
