I was going to wait to post any information on the build untill it was completed but i'm bored and I feel like sharing. This is my 85 Toyota ext. Cab and i'm building it to go on The Peterson's 4 Wheel and Off road Ultimate Adventure this year. I've got about 1 month to do 4 months of work on it, here are some pictures so far and I'll keep adding them as I finish things.

1st pic is what it used to look like about 6 months ago
2nd pic is after chopping the frame
3rd pic is just the start of the tube frame

So you've been selected to go? Do you know where the trip will be taking you?

Damn that's cool... you need an RME sticker for that thing, right? :hickey:

Well, not exactly. This rig is Kind of Sponsored by Tuff Country Suspension ( I've worked there for 6 years now) and We are the Official Suspension Sponsor for the Adventure, so my truck will be representing the company. To be honest they havn't told us where we are going yet, they just told us that it is in the middle of July

decided that I didn't wan't to do any body work on the cab so I was lucky and came across a new one in decent shape for decent price. Took it home and spent a day swapping and cleaning, then set it back on the chassis. ALL IN ONE DAY!!!

Wow, it looks really short. Is it me or the pics? Looks good otherwise...

Devin

no its not you, its just short. The bed ends at the back of the tires. I wanted a good departure angle, plus I think it looks awesome to have an extra cab and then a short little bed.

are you using tuff country air shocks on that?

I'm jealous, not only are you getting to build the rig, but I bet since your company is a sponsor time off for the event and gas money isn't a big deal

I bet that will be a great time, regardless of where the trip take you.

Unfortunatley Tuff Country doesn't offer any kind of air shock or coilover so I'm using Sway-a-Way 16" Piggyback Coilovers, in the pics they just don't have the coils on yet, i'm trying to dial in the correct spring rate for it.

Ya, time off won't be a problem :)
