I am in Carson City, the roads were generally good aside from a few construction zones past Wendover. Probably only lost 30 minutes due to construction. There is potential for some delays though.

I will probably try to be at Loon Lake around 7pm tomorrow.

Thanks for the update. Hey, like Lhracing said, maybe you could head down the trail a ways. If you find a great spit in the trail, we'll join you there. If not, we'll see you at north shore.

I will head down the trail a bit and see what's up. If I find something i will try and "reserve" it with my tent and head back up to lead you guys down.

IHRacing should be there in time so I will get with him and figure something out.

Anywhere, thanks to my geeky droid
Jeep on the trailer. Food in the cooler(s). Camping stuff ready to go. Leaving at 8am (or so). See you all at Reds in Carson City at 5:30?

Based on 8am departure, I'll be dropping the trailer in Dayton around 4-4:30. Reds is 30 minutes from there.

Just ate at Reds tonight. Those ribs are fantastic. If you get the ribs do yourself a favor and get the half rack, I am miserable right now after a full rack.

I wanted to get off work a little early tonight, so naturally I ended up being there late. Once I got home, I quickly set about packing my Jeep, aka Stuffing 10 Pounds of Crap into a 5 Pound Bucket. I'm not done yet--I'll put the last few items in there in the morning--but I think it will all fit. I think.

Steve, I plan to rendezvous at Cabelas by 8am if at all possible.

So my Aunt who has lived in Tahoe most of her life says to expect anything from 30 degrees at night to 80 degrees during the day.

I am packed for about anything. Just wanted to make sure everyone packed for the best, the worst and everything in between. I know it should be "4x4" common sense but a reminder could never hurt.

Weather forecast looks good.

Amazing what is packed for 2 people for 2 (3?) days. Glad I have a long Jeep with a rack.

Its been an adventure so far...

Brett and Turbominivan and I left cabelas at 830.

After we hit wendover billy started to notice a loss of power on the uphills. It seemed like a fuel delivery problem, so he swapped in a new fuel pump on the side of the road. Every time it got hot it would stutter and die. So we decided to bypass the fuel filter (using a bic pen) to see if that helped. It didn't.

About that time we got a call from maverick saying that his leaf spring broke on his trailer and he pipped a tire. He was ahead of us, so we limped along until we caught up with maverick.

When we got there, maverick had unloaded freakshow2 and was ready to roll. He had chained up his equalizing hitch bar to the spring and it was only to drive on the other 3 wheels...

So I hop in his excursion and drive the wounded trailer to wells, while maverick drives freak show to wells and my wife drives my Tacoma to wells, while Dempsey drives his tj to wells, following billy, who limps his wagoner to wells
..

Meanwhile...


Maverick calls ahead and tries to track down a spring... big o in elko can't get one, but we stop on wells to get gas. There, maverick somehow tracks down some springs that will work for his trailer, and we get everything over to les Schwab to get it repaired
..

Right as we pull into les Schwab, dempseys clutch starts acting up...

And billy rolls into wells right at this time...
