So last nigh after finding out the criminal history of Josh I had a Mod delete the tread. But I am posting this follow up for a few reasons. First I have a really good feeling Josh is seeing this and also so If any RME guys see this guy posting ads posing as me again I would like to know.
I went down to the Police station this morning and was able to talk with an Officer. First thing I was concerned about is making sure the gun my little sister now has is legal. The officer told me that most of the guns stolen are reported without a serial number since the owners do not know them. So basically he said even if it it hot as long as it wasn't reported with the serial number we get to keep it and be legal. The serial came back clean so good news their.
We talked about the harassment and showed him my text messages screen shots from the fake ads and screen shots of sellers other items linking him to the one posting them. We said we have a few options I can just let it go. He said most of these type of punks are all bark with no bite. Or I could file a report for communication harassment. If I do that and he does end up being the same Josh Monell that has felony charges and can not legally own, sell or trade a fire arm their is a good chance with the evidence I have including a picture of the gun he traded me their would also be gun charges that would most likely include a healthy prison sentence.
After thinking about it for a few I decided to let it go. I have a cousin that is currently doing 5 years at gunnison federal prison for possession of a fire arm with a felony charge so I know they are not light with their charges. Im not looking to ruin this kids life but Im not going to sit by and let the punk bully me.
So I guess this is fair warning that Josh needs to stay clear of me and my family. I expect to not see him posting anymore fake ads on KSL but if it happens and I find out about it I will have zero problems finishing the police report I started this morning. I also talked with my neighbors and showed them a picture asking them to keep an eye out for my wife during the day and my house at night.
Thanks to all of those on RME for the support hopefully this guy stays clear of the honest off road community.
