Dang this sounds like a ton of fun  I have a week worth of vacation days I need to burn before November but I also have my 4 year old. She's a trooper without a doubt but any more than 3 or 4 long days in the cab of a pickup is wishful thinking lol... I'm going to sit down this weekend and do some figuring. I'll keep a close eye on the thread and kick around some ideas for camping around Bear Lake. Can't commit right now but I'm chomping at the bit!

Steve, is it jeep stuff or will my f150 do it?

Based on the mountain and mining roads I've driven two F150 supercrew work trucks on over the last few years, it would actually be my preferred vehicle. I was just thinking that I'd prefer to take the F150 over the excursion on whatever part of this one I can make.

Decent tires, strap, set of tire chains and more than one vehicle combined with good judgment can go pretty far.

There's a link in post #1. I've never done the trail, and I'm no expert on the route. Greg seems to know the most about it. Feel free to look up the routes on a map and make your best judgment call. All I'm really good for is starting a thread and picking a date.

Sorry I haven't created the thread yet, I need to get on that.

Got any recommended camping spots we can start @ on Tuesday night? It'd be great to have you guys tag along. I'd love to incorporate some nature walks/hikes on this trip, but I'm pretty new to a lot of these areas.
