I have a 5.3 with an LS1 intake on it. I need to know the following:

-Can you use the 5.3 injectors from the truck intake on the LS1 intake?
-Who is a good source for 5.3 harnesses?
-Who is a good source for LS1 fuel rails/pressure regulators/hoses, etc.
-What fuel pump psi does a 5.3 run on?

Any help would be appreciated.

The injectors should interchange.

You can pick up the LS6 intake (non-egr) from ebay as a new take off, with injectors, fuel rails, and throttle body for around 450.

not sure on harness or psi.

I dealt with this on my 6.0, but I assume it's the same for the 5.3.

-Can you use the 5.3 injectors from the truck intake on the LS1 intake? - yes, with some modification. You have to fab a hold down bracket and use the truck fuel crossover tube. I also had to clean up the injector bores a bit. Pics are here in my build thread. http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/showthread.php?t=46571&page=10

-Who is a good source for 5.3 harnesses? - I had the factory harness reworked by Jims Performance.

-Who is a good source for LS1 fuel rails/pressure regulators/hoses, etc. - I used stock truck fuel rails, fittings and hose from Earls, pressure regulator is a GM piece (corvette application)

-What fuel pump psi does a 5.3 run on? - 57psi if I remember correctly.

Edit - Kiel's buid thread has some great information about truck injectors in LS1 intakes.

The injectors should swap, but where the fuel rails bolt to the intakes are different. I had to build a adapter bracket that steps down so you can hold down the rails. You, can run the stock ls1 rails and injectors or buy aftermarket, which is pricey. Depending on what year your engine is it could be regulated by the rail itself. Mine runs at about 55-60 ps1

Thanks, all. What's a good source for throttle cables for the LS1? Lots are listed on ebay and such, but I want to deal with someone established an reputable.

Kiel, are you saying that you used the truck fuel rails on the LS intake?

Also, what all do I need to run with LS fuel rails (hoses, fittings, regulator/filter, return line if there is one, etc.)?

Yes, I run the truck rail, and crossover, regulator etc on the corvette ls1 intake flipped backwards. The truck cable throttle body bolts on to the corvette manifold.

OK. Also, there's a small steel coolant pipe near the bottom of the throttle body on the driver's side of the throttle body. I don't want to route coolant through the throttle body. Is there somewhere else I can route it to? Can I just plug it off? Thanks again in advance.

Its to heat up the throttle body on cold days. Mine are just capped. The only ones they say to run are the coolant tubes between the heads. At least one, but I run both. It prevents hot spots in the head, but can sometimes cause a coolant bubble.

I used Jim as well. The only problem I had was its 2 weeks of shipping. If the program is not what your after its another 2 weeks for the shipping. I had another guy do some programming and he could not get what I wanted. I finally took it to Novak and they dialed it in first time. Plus they have a trick fuel pump adapter if your running a tj and want to keep the fuel pump in the tank. I used the Corvett filter and pressure reducer, I would not go that route again. The adapters to fit to that parts was outrages. I believe the fuel psi is around 58 psi. This is the build thrd I used to get all my need information for mine

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I like Speartech. John makes them from scratch right to your specs. I took pictures of the engine bay and pointed out where I wanted the harness ran. Then gave him measurements of the engine bay so he could make it right.
I'd pick up a junk yard ecu. I have a local guy in north SL that does custom tunning. He will sit in your rig and tune it while you drive it, changing perameters as you request, including shift points, if you're running an auto. And he's cheap.
I can pm you his info if you want it.
