What books are you reading (or listening to?)

One of my other faves that used to be somewhat obscure is Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It was recently made into a limited series for Apple TV, but I’ve not seen it. I doubt it could be as good as the audiobook.

I watched the show and didn't realize it was a book until I saw it on a list last week. The library doesn't have a copy though which is lame.

I’ve been listening to The Expeditionary Force series by Craig Alanson. Came across it because it is read by RC Bray…one of my favorite narrators. It is sci-fi with attitude. Been a long time since I’ve laughed out loud to myself while listening to or reading a book.

Just finished the third one of the series; many good chuckle-worthy moments. Bray does a fantastic job with these books.

Couldn’t quite finish “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson, same author of “Elon Musk.” I believe it was written with the same impartiality. However, as I listened to Jobs, it made me want to get rid of all my Apple products, and when I listened to Musk I wanted to buy a Tesla.

I started Blood Meridian yesterday. As I read it I hear the words in the drawl of Sam Elliot.
Cormac McCarthy, is one of my all time favorite authors, i think his best work is The Road.... reading it is like dark poetry, I have read it more times than I care to admit.

I don't know if I already made the recommendation for a series call Red Rising, I am reading the latest book. the entire series has been a roller coaster, and the 6th book is no exception, if you are into dystopian universe novels this is a great series to read. think hunger games meets divergent meets enders game. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5Z4RZ2W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_351_o04?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I started this series when there were just two books and liked it, but got sidetracked and forgot about the series. Thanks for the reminder.

I had red rising on my library hold list forever and it finally came through. I read it quick and am not on the fourth book in the series I think. I haven't been able to get into it deep yet but they have been entertaining.
