Yesterday I finished grouting the shower and installed the shower dress up stuff.

I am pretty happy with it. Now I need to get quotes for a shower door.

It's May day, which means Bountiful secondary water gets turned on. And I get to fix whatever stupid water pipes broke/ leak over the winter and then add another gate valve and sprinkler head. Luckily my shutoff valve was full of dirt and rusted open, so I got to pester my wife into helping me turn the irrigation key.

My small OSHA inspector made sure I did it right.
Also, chickens are little jerks who kick my wood chips out of the landscaping into the lawn and kill it...

With a lot of compacting I was able to get it all into the city’s small dumpster.

Built a new mailbox post and moved it to my cool neighbors side last week. It was nice to do a little fab work, and play with the hot metal glue stick again.



Now the clock begins for my other neighbor to remove his mailbox from my driveway, before I find a way to accidentally remove it from my driveway...

I finished a bowl that I'm going to give my mom for mothers day. This is the first one I've done start to finish that was worth giving away. It came from a huge box elder tree in Midvale off 7200 south that got cut down around Christmas. There is a bunch of curl and chatoyance that shimmers in the light but doesn't show up well in my pictures. Its about 14" wide and 4" deep.

I've been weighing these blanks every couple weeks to see if they are still dropping water weight and a bunch of them have stabilized so I decided to finish this one. I've got a decent size pile of others to start working through too. I'm hoping that I can get some done and then start selling them, I'll probably spin up a webstore in the next few months when I can find the time.

These would both cost around $75. The walnut is 11" x 3.5" and is a lot harder to come by hence the price.

If you're serious send me a text and we can chat about what you're interested in and I can let you know what I can do. I have a bunch that are smaller as well from like 3" wide on up. I have a cherry blank that is about 12-13" wide and really nice and another walnut same size as above that both need to be finished and sanded.

Been doing a bunch of work in our yard trying to get it cleaned up for the rental of our basement. Rented a Kubota skid steer to help with the work. Should have taken some before pictures but here are the after pictures.

I added a bunch of solar LED lights around the house for more security and looks... tossed a few around the Model T, so it's lit up too.... I dig it! They stay on once dark hits, not sure how long they last.

We had a concrete pad poured out side the Apartment rental door. We then layed a bunch of pavers around it. It finished it off nicely. What is even better is these were free pavers from my brothers left over project.

I managed to score some pretty large pieces of wood last week. I got silver maple, black walnut, box elder, and cherry. I roughed a few of the maple and then tried coring out a maple blank for the first time. I started with an 18" wide by about 9" deep blank and cored out an additional 13.5" bowl and about a 10" bowl. The cutters are set on a pivot point in front of the blank and they are on an arc that rotates into the wood to get the shape. Its a pretty slick way to get three bowls from one blank that would typically just end up being a ton of wasted shavings. I'm excited to get into this pile of wood and see how it looks.

This maple has some figure in it and some birds eye that is going to be pretty.

Got a huge load of gravel today to clean up a dum utility section I share with a neighbor...


Only about 3 or 4 yards will go into this section, the other 10 yards will go into my long AF park strip.

Spent the whole evening on it but am so glad it's done.
