Made a little more progress on the Camaro last night until my plans were changed abruptly.
Heads cleaned of gasket material from the intake gaskets.
Removed rocker covers as both appeared to have some oil leaks. Insides were very clean as was the lifter valley indicating good service intervals at least.
Moved on to cleaning the intake manifold in preparation for reinstallation. Decided to replace the thermostat while I’m here based on how poor the coolant looked. A lot of sealant was used. I guess the old adage of if a little is good a lot must be great was used.
I was making great progress on the Camaro when my compressor decided it needed some attention.
My Quincy compressor has been a fantastic unit in the 27+ years of service. I purchased it brand new and splurged on cost because I wanted quality. Other than routine service this is the first issue I’ve ever had with it.
I noticed my air supply was diminishing so when I walked into the RV bay I noticed it only had 50 PSI. After discovering the breaker tripped I realized my unloader valve was still expelling air so I immediately thought check valve.
More to come. Thanks for looking.
Mike
