I had my friend weld up my subframe. Easy stuff. Just welded the tab back on.

I replaced the timing chain. The stock auto tensioner got too tight and wore the new one out in 20 hours. This new Hot Cams one is supposed to be a slight upgrade in strength over the stock Yamaha one.

Here's a quick how to video I made on cam chains and cam chain tensioners.

While I had the top end apart I decided to do a valve leak down test and take a look a the piston at 20hrs. Everything looks perfect and the valve lash is spot on. Additionally the crank end play is perfect.

Also I smashed the stock rear brake pedal yanking my bike out of the snow,

I was able to bend it back into shape, but the Al was fatigued.
So I finally swapped to the spare Tusk one I've had sitting around in the garage for a while.
I was pretty impressed with it, and the safety strap is reassuring.

I also swapped in a new UFO chain slider. I'm impressed with the quality.

I'm glad I did the maintenance: I was able to pull down a 3rd place finish at the Sugarloafers Cherry Creek Race last Saturday.

I rode a 2015 beta 300 cross trainer yesterday and I thought of you Stratton. sweet bike, electic start, mix injected, ready to race, and almost street worthy too with a headlight, taillight and horn. light and peppy.

they have a race version... RR, but they are about $1500 more and I might would do some different things with the $1500 I saved getting the trainer.
I have three friends with these. One of them rides his all the time except when he races or rides the track. He is telling me that he will desert race it possibly. Other that that, he is on his XTrainer. The other two just ride them for fun. They are closer to a real dirtbike than the KTM Freeride. I have two friends with Freerides. One of them loved his Freeride so much he bought a second one. Personally, after throwing a leg over the Freeride and the XTrainer. I like the XTrainer. Not only are they less expensive than a XTrainer, I perfer the power difference, suspension setup is for a bigger rider compared to a Freeride. Imagine riding a KTM 200 with electric start, more power, more bottom end torgue, less weight and a lower seat height without losing ground clearance. Its a riot.

Well the Yamaha is gone, sold ect.

It looks like either I get a TE300/ 300XC or a FE350 or 350XC-f.

The revs on the 350 sound sweet and the 300 sounds like less work if I keep if for a while.

I'm pretty tired of working on bikes instead of riding them.
