Some people think that there rig is worth more than it really is. To some, this Jeep may be worth the $7,000.00. bobdog has the sweetest CJ I have seen in a long time, but I wouldn't give him more than $5,000.00 for it

But If I ever wanted to sell and I never do, I could get quite a bit more than $5000 (I have had serious offers). I have not seen the $7000 Jeep in question but a truly rust free CJ in very good unmolested shape will fetch that much easy. 2 years ago I looked at quite a few Jeeps for my step son. CJS and YJs. We ended up getting him a YJ because what you can get for your money is so much better with the YJs. I was surprised at how much people were asking for CJs in pretty rough shape.

Go with the XJ, the Minivan of the Jeepin world. XJ's turn more heads than anything out there (ok that is just because they think you are frinkin crazy to try and ride around with three kids hanging out the windows)

Seriously, if you think it is worth that price then buy it. It seems to me that the type of jeep you buy depends on the kind of jeepin you are going to be doing, and your the only one that can answer that question.

I had a XJ for years but I sold it and want an open top this time. I think the YJ is better overall mechanically (frame, rust, fuel injection, etc) but I like the look of the CJs better. If there was a black 4.0L automatic YJ in decent condition I would be on that faster than Mikey Jackson on a 12 year old boy! BUt its almost impossible to find a auto in a YJ and when you do its the 4 cyl.

I'll try to go see the CJ tomorrow and take some pics. :D

Jay look close at the frame around the steering box and the rear spring hangers on the front springs. alsp the rear most cross member where the bumper attaches. look at the rear corners of the body they are useally packed with bondo if they have been dented or rusted look at the motor mount as well. lift carpet and check the floor and under roll bar mounts. If its clean and you like it buy it. Alot of guys on RME are tight asses consider what engine, tranny swaps lift, tires wheels lockers gears paint jobs roll cages seats stereos, labor and other do dads cost. It might just be a better place to start. then buying an old junker YJ and starting from scratch. If ya do get it be light on the skinny peddal. that D30 might not live to long under the 401

Took it for a test drive last night. Its from CA so no rust anywhere. The kid selling it is 18 and did all the work him self but it looks quality. He has an aftermarket radiator, full cage that is also an air tank, flat fender front, slap shifter, tera 4:1 in the t-case, electric choke, garage fab f/r hard bumpers. It drives well, has headers and glass packs so it will not pass emmissions. The breaks are good but the steering wonders. I've driven a few CJs and it seems to be inherent in all lifted ones. The inside is stripped and lined, gauges work for the most part, aftermarket tach. He said he would go down to $6500.

I took some pics if some one can host.

Sounds pretty good, $6.5k is still alot, but it sounds pretty built for the price.

You can attach the pics on here, as long as they have been reduced to 60k or less. Look for "Attach Files:" and click on "Manage Attachments" ;)

8's are rad, you should see the one Mepco just finished building. Even though, I'm now anti-mepco I still can recognize a well built jeep.
That's a lot o dough though. Shipping is a crap load.

I think Rjmax is selling a pretty good looking cj for like 2K, why don't you consider that. For the money you would save you could build it up quite a bit. Talk to Brandon or Kurt and Von and see what they could do for you with 3-4K.

Where is that CJ8? Would getting it to you be a PITA? From the specs, it sounds like it was built right... those 'World Products' Heads are great parts. Ask him if it has one piece axles in the AMC 20.

Its up in North Dakota... about 600 + miles away. I talked to him last night and he is sending more pics soon. It does not have one piece axles in the rear. He must drive like a puss if he has not broken them with the locker and the V8.

Even with the two piece axles, I bet it would make it to Utah.......

Well, get your @ss out there and bring it home :D :D :D, Oh, and the drive through northeastern WY is incredible................
LOL I'm working on it. The seller is being very slow with the picsand info.

And if the northeast WY drive is anything like the drive to Kansas I think I'll pass. 22 hours of nothing gets boring fast
