What's on your Bucket List?

I always hear people talking about their Bucket List and some of the goals they want to accomplish in this life... and while I feel like I've done a lot of great things and have been fortunate in that aspect, I don't really have a 'bucket list' of my own. I guess if I had some items to put on a list, they would be...

  • Ride the Baja Peninsula top to bottom, offroad, on a dual sport.
  • Explore South America on motorcycle.
  • Explore and hike in Alaska.
  • Visit and explore Africa.
  • ..... ?

I'm amazed with what some of you guys have done and heard about some great plans. I'd like to hear what you all have on your Bucket List.... perhaps I'll get some ideas to add to mine!

Great idea for a thread Greg. These have been floating around in my mind, but actually making a list makes it real. I've checked a lot of stuff off my bucket list the last few years, but here's what's left:

4x4 trips:
- the Rubicon (this September!)
- Comb Wash
- Ride as a passenger on Pritchett
- complete the Kokopelli Trail
- take the Pony Express Trail to Wendover

Other outdoorsy stuff
- hike calf creek falls
- complete the subway
- complete the narrows
- hike angels landing
- do at least 10 more slot canyons
- hike bluejohn canyon again
- visit Yellowstone
- go on a multi-day river kayak camping trip
- camp in Montana
- ride 5moh
- ride every inch of rideable trail up AF Canyon
- camp/explore in the La Sal mtn range
- learn survival skills better
- learn to flyfish like a pro. (part of this includes getting over my fear of touching live fish)

Other
- have children
- learn to save money better
- be a better husband (copied from gravesdiggerxj's list)
- make lots of great memories with my family
- learn to be a better photographer/videographer to capture these memories
- learn to enjoy fully what I have (copied from gravesdiggerxj's list, this one is difficult for me)
- finish my PhD someday
- take the wife skydiving
- learn another language (or 2 or 3???)

Most of mine a pretty realistic but what I'd like most is to learn to enjoy fully what I have.

360* on a Bike.
consistently land 720*s off the 50ft tables
Land a rodeo flip in the terrain park snowboarding (got real close this year).
Land a backflip on a wakeboard
Roundoff back handspring backfull
Master my Temper.
Be a better husband.
Be a Dad.
Go to/ compete in King of the Hammers
Build a prerunner DD.
Get a shop with AC and heat!
Go to school some more.
Get another dritbike and explore more.
Make some better friends.

We could do the pony express tomorrow!

In for the following

  • Rubicon in my current Jeep item
  • Play golf at Pebble Beach
  • buy a house in the Carribean and retire there
  • find a way to haul my Jeep and camp in comfort enough for my woman to come with me
  • watch my kids grow into functional adults---0/1 so far there, but he's fouling a few balls off now vs. getting beaned
  • hang out with BC more often :D--he can teach me to be old

Well, as many of you know, my life has changed dramatically recently so a lot of plans that I had with my ex are now gone or need to be reevaluated. So this is a great opportunity to write them down (in no particular order), I suppose:

Trans-Utah Expedition (West-East & North-South)
Retrace Steinbecks Travels with Charley route around the US
Drive the PCH top to bottom
Drive Canada's Highway 1
Go to Yellow Knife (why the hell not?)
Live in Australia for a year or so (11 months till departure!)
Live in the UK
Extensively travel Europe
Visit Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg, mostly)
Attend the Dakar Rally
Monaco Grand Prix
Monte Carlo Rally
Baja 1000
Goodwood Festival of Speed
Bathurst 1000
Race in Targa Newfoundland
Visit Nixon's Pyramid
Drive the full length of the Lincoln Highway (in a period appropriate vehicle, preferably)
Write a novel
Write a traveloge
Drive to all 50 states and capitals via the old highway system
More to come...

On my list:
Finally finish both degrees I started
Become a father and have honest and faithful children
Learn how to balance my Miata/Jeep/fishing/camping/etc hobbies without frustrating my wife
Build our dream home on 2-3 acres in the Morgan or Kamas areas
Establish a career where I help others more than myself
Spend some time in Alaska
Not be so prideful and love others more

I will think of more later....

For a real awesome adventure do PET out to Lake Tahoe.
