Whats the difference between a shock absorber and a steering stabilizer?
Not so much a no-no as it just won't ride very well. It will be very squishy because the stabilizer has a lot softer valving, and is a 50/50 valving. Where a shock is more like 70/30. Creating more damping force against the down pressure, while allowing less resistance to allow the shock to return to ride position.
I wouldn't recommend it. Besides, Steering Stabilizers are usually not quite as stout as a shock and could break easier.
I always found that steering stabilizers were much stiffer than most shocks... But other than that I agree 100%!
