I'm in Cebu City in the Philippines right now. Long ass plane flight, etc, and now I can't sleep when I should be trying to.
Theres strange vehicles here, some cool some not. There are odd jeepish looking things all over the place, some low, some not. One of the coolest appearing things I have seen is a diesel powered mitsubishi mid size crew cab pickup. I kind of liked it.
I have pics of said odd vehicles, I just need to buy a mini USB cable for my camera (mine is very far away right now).
So.. what the furthest you have been?

When I had my residence in Texas I was in S Korea for about 3 months. If you are talking in the states I would have to say also from Texas and I was station in Hawaii. Sorry could not tell you the miles I just know it is a long plane ride from Texas to Hawaii.

7813miles from LAX to this little city. Traffic here frightens me. traffic control devices are few and far between, and unlike in the states, where there are rules concerning four way intersection, here it seems to be a free for all. Mind you this is a free for all involving people selling newpapers and bandannas, people hanging off the back of vehicles, and motorcycles with sidecars that seat four. I would not want to drive here.

I was in the Phillipines for work a few years back. Manilla, Batongus etc... I always thought the Polished steel Jeepnees looked kinda cool. But I do agree with you about the driving.. I spent my fist afternoon watching a 4way intersection trying to figure out how the traffic rules worked and then gave up.. its crazy seeing someone in a little car cut in front of a semi and expect them to stop for them AWWW... ya I hated the flight too cuzz I can't sleep on planes so that is one long damn flight... GO EAT BALUTE (sp?) or at least con someone into taking you up to the Volcano and a day of scuba diving in the north :)

I travel a lot for work, but the farthest away I've been is Santiago Chile. Ended up traveling from there to northern Chile (atacama desert.. aka the driest climate on earth... aka the surface of the freaking moon). Crazy trip. Word to the wise... think twice before taking a taxi through downtown Santiago... during a riot.... when the military has been deployed...

Well, New Jersey or Orlando are probably further away distance wise---but not culturally.

I drove to Alaska once ... before a leaving, a friend told me I was crazy, that it was like "driving to the moon" and yes it was!
