ive take 2 my dad has taken 3. Really cool animal. It amazed ne how comfortable they would get to you being there, I spent three days every evening in a tree just to watch them. Gets kinda scary when they start to climb your tree though ;)

named for the cherry coke he knocked off the table and promptly licked up.

i still have trouble sleeping up there the first night. i damn near killed myself sleepwalking one night. aperently i was trying to climb up the ladder to the loft, trying to get away from the bear. (keep in mind i am asleep) well back in the real world, i was already in the loft and just about walked of the edge of said loft.

All I can say is they better be getting some good pictures!!!! I have been going up there for 12 years and have never seen a bear. I have seen a crushed humming bird feeder the bear tried to eat.

Huh. I didn't really think anyone ate bear. I wonder if it's tasty.

[rant]Why would you kill something if you were not going to eat it? IMHO sport hunting is stupid and cruel. If you're going to take the time to kill the damn thing, you better be prepared to gut it, skin it, eat it or make a f***ing jacket out of it! Not just chop its head off and mount it to your wall like some sort of sick trophy.
Additionally, if you built your cabin in bear country then you should understand that you are the intruder, not the bear. So if a bear wants to mosey on past your cabin, which you only occupy for one week out of the year, don't get all hyped up about killing it. Just stay out of its way and it will continue past.[/rant]
(Yes, I know I'm going to catch sh!t for this)

Not to mention the fact that it is against the law to waste the meat on a game animal.

well first off there are alot of problem bears in the area and the fish and game is no longer transplanting bears out of the area. they have a trap set to catch it and when they do catch it they will kill it so we figured rather than let them kill it and bury it and wast the entire animal we would offer it up to a hunter. so if any body has a bear tag and wants a bear skin rug lemme know:D

... and if anyone here gets it, save me some bear burgers. I'm keenly curious now. Is it like a gamier lamb sort of taste? More like elk? I want to know, dang it.

Hey Steven, I'm going rabbit hunting tomorrow, wanna go?

Most of the wild species that are so prolific now are that way because of hunters/sportsmen donating their time and money on conservation of the species. If not for these efforts, there would not be many animals in the wild anymore. So, before you call out the sportsmen, you may want to look at the big picture.
