This thread needs to be updated, but there are no new real changes. I put the hard top back on. It hasn't been on since I took it off right after I purchased it. It is nice not having a wind chill. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I couldn't resist the Motobilt sale of 30%. I ordered some 4 inch flare highline Aluminum fenders. With the aluminum insert kit. Can't wait to get them and get them installed.

I appreciate you notifying me of this sale.... I have been eyeing Motobilt's Highline fenders for a year. I have now spent too much money.

I recently took the doors and top off again. I love this mode.

I noticed in traffic it would start to warm up. While moving, it would go back to normal. I tried to drive it to Toquerville Falls last week and it over heated. Found my clutch fan to be not clutched anymore. I installed a new one and it seems much better. I'll find out on Friday when I go to wheel it.

I have never had the alignment done since I built it. I went to have it done but it needed some ball joints with degree correction in them. Finally installed them the last couple of days. I also replaced the passenger side axle joint as it has some play in it. Next is an alignment.
I have noticed one of my fox rear shocks has been puking it's oil out. I have some bilstien shocks laying around. The shock body is about a 1.25 inches longer but has 5.5 more inches of travel. We will see if I bottom it out or not. The bump stop has about 1.5 more inches of travel but the dust on them shows it doesn't use about 1.5 inches of travel. Worst case I can modify my shock tower higher to accommodate but am excited to have a working rear shock again. I had to drill out the eyelet to fit my half inch bolt but it was a thick sleeve so it is fine. 20240810_171146.jpg

Finally got these installed after nearly a year after I ordered them, and having them sit around for the last 10 months. Pretty happy with the final results. Hood needs a tiny bit more grinding then a protective edge. I opted fro some old fashion hood pins. They sucked to get lined up right but finally made them work. Inner liners made it easy to mount my radiator over flow. I deleted my washer fluid bottle and motor because I couldn't find a decent spot for it. Glad to finally have this done.

While ORI was here messing with the buggy they also fixed a leaky ORI strut I had on the YJ.

I also elected to just get rid of the washer fluid reservoir.

Nice work. I met Dan from Motobilt at TH. Super nice guy and seemed genuine. Their stuff is among the best build quality I’ve seen. Wish I knew about their aluminum option when I bought my GR corners. They look great.

Well finally finished this up as much as I am able to. I still need to have them modified to match my boat sides. When finances are able then I'll get to that. Right now it is a cosmetic issue.

I neglected to buy a battery box when I purchased the flares. Ruffstuff had the best price on one so I bought it and burned it into place. No more bungee cords holding down the battery. Also some simple rubber trim for the cut hood. I can tell it is cheaper quality but we will see how long it last.
