What I find odd/frustrating/mildly entertaining is many of the same people who respond to a controversy over a country song with ' it is only a song, don't be a snowflake ' are the same ones have melt downs over a beer can they will likely never actually see in person.

Have you even listened to the song? Sure it sucks but there is literally nothing racist in it. PRETTY big reach there...

Dude, that happened a TON of times but instead with no recourse. They literally posed with a decapitated head that resembled Trump. Absolute insanity.
Not sure Kathy Griffith hosting the has is an actual threat.

I agree there was a lot of vague threats towards Trump.... but I didn't hear about anything that had threats against multiple elected officials with mentions of how they would do it.

I do agree with Houndoc's assessment. It's just a beer can ....get over it snowflake

'C'mon, Man!'

You know that's not what I'm saying.
Being trans is your choice. I don't care.

BUT, With the current STRONG push for youth trans, along with youth transitions and such.. Actively supporting the cause is an evil that Bud light drinkers obviously cannot agree with.

To add perspective to my position.. I currently have a niece who has a whacko mom. The niece (age 14) gets ALL of her social interactions from social media. In the last 2 years alone she has identified as a girl, a boy, non-binary, a cat, and most recently showed up to our house with ?sheep? horns. Total freak. Total extremes. Mom would have transitioned her to anyone of the current things she identifies as.
This is mental illness, and needs to NOT be supported.
I get what you're trying to say, but you're putting things on to Dylan that she isn't guilty of to try and illustrate a different point.

As for the trans youth movement. I think of this in the same light as the trans in sports movement. I don't know. I can see a bit of both sides. My wife and I talked about this last weekend in fact. If either of our boys in their younger years really identified as female and wanted to suppress their hormones and have surgery to "assign" a gender, what would we do. I know what I think I would do, but until it happens in your own house, you really don't know. I'm not going to virtue signal about gender and parenting in situations that I've never been in.

My wife's "sister" is a furry ("sister" weird scenario...my wife's bio dad and step mom were separated because he didn't want more kids (he wasn't there, in any way, for the three kids he did/does have), step mom went to sperm bank and they later reconciled. "sister" does not know that she has no biological relation to her dad or my wife, and since her dad was never really there for my wife, there isn't much of a relationship between any of them). She thinks she's a cat, wears a tail etc. She's now a freshman in HS (in Texas, poor girl) and she's definitely an odd ball and definitely also gives off lesbian vibes. As you said, all kids are confused about who they are, but I'd say -800 odds that she's a lesbian. We're all watching with popcorn to see how it all plays out because mom and dad are the hardest core MAGA conservatives I've ever met. Her dad said that he'd let Trump grab his wife by the p*ssy. Once, within the same run-on sentence, they proclaimed how illegal immigration is the downfall of America and how they all should be sent back, and then how sad they were that the beautiful Mexican family that owned the restaurant down the street that they had been eating at for 20 years just closed down because the parents were deported. Hardcore pro-life, yet her dad never once spent a dime to help her mom (who is a teacher) support her and her brother, and her dad completely abandoned another daughter from an affair he had with another women while his then wife was pregnant with my wife. ANYWAYS, these philosophically and morally consistent Christian conservatives are going to be navigating an interesting situation with their daughter I think, and I'm all here to see how they handle it.

It's sad that someone can't be who they want to be, not harm anyone, and just be left alone. There are plenty of people that just want to own their guns, not hurt anyone and just be left alone.

As a nymphomaniac lesbian atheist, forced to identify as a Mormon man most of my life, I relate strongly to this.

BTW... My Son is gay. Whoopy shit. That's about exactly what I said to him when he told me. But given my inner lesbian, maybe there really is something hereditary about it...

I still don't get it. Again, it wasn't a national campaign....so WGAF? They did a promotion for someone trying to drum up sales. They never forced those views on anyone else. As far as I can tell, they aren't actively supporting issues that actually SUPRESS anyone's rights, so why the boycott?

I guess I see a lot of hysterics over something people just think is "icky" I don't agree with how visual and vocal the trans ideology has become, but not because I disagree with it...but that I feel it is being addressed to younger and younger kids, in areas that it should not be. I do also feel that it is mentioned and shown on more and more media, social and TV/Movies, when in reality, it is a tiny % of the population....but based on how it is in the for front of things, the issue is WAY more common then it really is....which is causing too many young people to question themselves, and/or try to fit in. HOWEVER, I don't correlate that to what Bud Light did. They created a special set of cans for a single person, of drinking age that other people have looked up to, or followed, or whatever, all to try and gain market share in that demographic.

I guess I am seeing how hypocritical the world is. People get in an uproar over things usually because it just doesn't align with their views....but if it did, they'd proudly support it. I have seen similar hypocrisy regarding the FBI raid/killing of the guy that threatened Joe Biden. If the same thing happened to a left wing (d) that had threatened Trump, most Trump supporters would be saying "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" or "F*#K around and find out" Because the guy aligns with their views, the FBI is evil and murdered this guy in cold blood. It's a tragedy that as a country (hell, as people in general) we can't look at the big picture and not be so offended/outraged by such trivial things that don't affect us.

People from the middle to the right are getting tired of being quiet about the issue of transgender being pushed on them as well as they absolutely do not feel that it is a matter that should be part of our education system. School is for kids to learn the skills to succeed in life. When schools are more focused on teaching social issues over history, math, geography, etc. we are going to have a bunch of kids who do not have the skills to succeed. Wait, we are already seeing that. Kids with developing minds do not need to have subjects of abnormal sexuality imposed on them......especially against their parents will.

The big pushback comes from those people that are sick of this agenda. I do not care if somebody is transgender, I do not care if something is gay. I have some friends who are gay and do business with several people that are gay. None of these people are of the mindset that we need to be educating young kids in school about all of this. This absolutely has no place in our elementary and middle schools.

The silent majority is starting to speak up and use their pocket book with great impact. Lets face it.....Bud light drinkers are not the social justice type and they are not going to be forced to accept something they do not believe in. Sure, it was just one person with their image on a can, but it is what this partnership represented in their eyes. The vocal minority who has been at the head of so many cancel culture campaigns have never had the financial impact that this whole AB thing has had. They just always used fear to make companies change.

This is exactly it..

It wasn't just making a can. She was a hired brand ambassador. She was a part of a big plan to take Bud in a different direction.
So it correlates heavily.

Also, from Billy Bucsh.. direct family decendent:

"I think my family, my ancestors, would have rolled over in their grave," he said. "They were very patriotic. They loved this country and what it stood for. They believe that transgender, gays, that sort of thing, was all a very personal issue.
They love this country because it is a free country and people are allowed to do what they want, but it was never meant to be on a beer can and never meant to be pushed in people's faces"

This is what Americans have felt, and why they are pushing back. As Paul said, the 'silent majority' have been pushed to far, and are starting to bring things back to a reality that can be reasonable.

I keep seeing posts talking about “outrage”. Ask yourself who is actually outraged. Is it the average person who actually stopped buying Bud Light suddenly? It’s not. The outrage you see are those who seek attention, which the media gladly provides and focuses on. The media needs drama to make money. This applies to every person you see expressing “outrage” no matter which side of the political fence they fall on. The vast majority of people are not “outraged” every day of their lives, their just tired of some issue or another that a company is supporting and they choose to spend their money elsewhere. It’s that simple. Same reason I don’t spend money at REI.

Absolutely have listened to the song. And in reality it wouldn't have raised anyone's attention if it hadn't been filmed in the location it had (site of lynching, which I agree those involved likely didn't know) while being a song about 'good ole boys' threatening violence
actual lyrics
"Well, try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
'Round here we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won't take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don't"

Again, I personally don't see it as a big deal- listen to it if you like, don't if you don't. But don't whine while people complain about a song and have a fit over a beer can.

The difficulty with saying gender identity issues should not be addressed with kids that is when the issues arise- are we really helping those kids who struggle but sweeping the issue under the rug?
How do you separate social issues from history? What we learn about in history- the Revolution, Civil War, Civil Right movement- all started as "social issues".

It has been in the last few years that I have had a pretty significant change of views when it comes to LGBTQ+ issues.

I have come to realize that I do not need to understand someone's life experience that is different than mine or have any really concept of the how and why they feel how they do in order to treat them with kindness and respect. Nor do I need to agree with the moral right or wrong of others people's decisions especially when it comes down to their personal relationships with others.

We see a sad amount of hate and fear on this forum when it comes to LGBTQ+ issues.

I feel like one of my primary and most important jobs as a father is to make sure my kids don't make any choices they can't take back. Today it might be making sure they wear their helmets on their motorcycles, tomorrow it might be keeping them from falling off a cliff while hiking and in several years it might be keeping them from suppressing their hormones. I will love them no matter what and be supportive always but there are lines to be drawn when it comes to keeping them safe- even if it's from themselves.
