I don't drink beer, so I didn't really follow the whole Bud Light debacle...but from what I have heard, Bud Light simply made a few cases with the trans women's face on it and sent them to her right? Why does everyone give a crap? It doesn't sound (at least from what I've seen) that they were doing the promo nationwide, that they were being sold in stores, etc....so why the uproar? Bud Light decided to make a one-off for this person so that they would help promote the brand to her followers....why is that something that needs to be boycotted?

I don't see how Bud Light pushed any sexuality, or anything on the general public....so I'm lost on why the uproar. As I said, I haven't really followed it, and have only heard a few things here or there...so maybe I'm wrong and they did make this a national campaign and drinkers of it were "forced" to purchase the product marketed up and promoting trans rights....but I don't recall seeing anything.

I totally support people spending their money with companies that they align with but I’m not sure all the uproar was necessary 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s because bud light chose to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of a mentally unstable trans woman with a special can. Even though it was only made for her/him it shows where they think the world should put focus.
Of all the MILLIONS of Americans who have accomplished something special.. why focus on that person? Choose someone that all Americans can be proud of, not a very tiny minority or unhealthy minds.
Or better yet, just stay out of it and make beer.

I recall reading somewhere that she was one of quite a few people that received promo cans.

I just think everyone is looking for the next outrage and next thing to cancel. It's sad that someone can't be who they want to be, not harm anyone, and just be left alone. There are plenty of people that just want to own their guns, not hurt anyone and just be left alone. Maybe there is some common ground there?

We have states allowing untrained religious leaders to provide counseling to child sex abusers/victims without mandatory disclosure under a religious exemption, but the trans kid getting a case of budlight with her face on it is the outrage. The misdirection is on both sides, but it's frustrating to watch.

As for the beer, meh who cares. AB can advertise how it wants, and people can spend their dollars how they want. That I definitely believe in. This just used hate to accelerate the torch passing from one non US company to another as largest beer brand in the US. If I were AB, I'd send a custom case of Modelo to every anti gun-rights advocate out there with anti-gun moto's on it ha ha

I think it was. It sent a message to all the other globalhomo corporations that we're tired of their trans bullshit. Keep that shit in your own home.
Don’t get me wrong, if that actually worked I’m not going to be sad about that result. I think I really don’t care since it’s about beer 🤷🏼‍♂️

Disagree. This was not a 'next thing to cancel'. It was a clear line crossing violation against a strong, large majority of client base.

It not as simple as that. This is not someone being who they want, and being left alone. It was an extreme support of an odd person, in effort to normalize and encourage similar behavior.
Can you imagine putting Warren Jeffs on a special can? Same Same.

Look - if the mentally ill freaks want to hold parades and chant "we're coming for your children" then you're damn right I'm gonna stop supporting or buying anything that promotes that behavior. How is that "outrage"?
Yes, how dare they try and teach children to be open and accepting of other people, and that it's ok to be happy with who you are. My kid s go to the Pride festival with us every year and certainly don't seem to be any gayer as a result.

I also think if you look at the number of trans/homosexual people that commit sexual crimes against children or kill people (killing themselves not included), vs the number of non trans/homosexuals that have committed those crimes, adjusted for population size, that the non LGBTQ population would have much lower numbers. Now the real question I have is, how many of those people that don't identify as LGBTQ and commit those crimes, do so because they are emotionally struggling with some unresolved sexual identity issues of their own? Imagine how it feels to feel you are a certain way, but are terrified for your entire life that your friends/family/community will no longer accept you if you come out? It's WAY better to let people be happy with who they are and support them, than to let them live in a prison of fear for their entire life. Don't you think? Since you are qualified to diagnose someone else as mentally ill, I'm curious to hear your take on that.

I agree. But if people don't want to buy it because of the way the advertise it then that's fine too.
That's what I said.

Was/is Dylan a child molester? Was she enabling other child molesters under the guise of a first amendment right to follow the fundamentalist teachings of a church founded by child molesters? What crime has she committed? You are spot on about misidentifying the general demography of their customer base though.

It's odd to you, but why does it need to be odd to everyone? And actually, who really cares if it's odd? I'm odd. You're odd. We're all weirdo's in our own way and we shouldn't really spend all that much time trying to make other people think we're less odd.

Every male religious figure molesting little boys is gay, aren't they? I think the male, boy molestation is the most common in those orgs. I may by wrong.

I personally think this is a big thing. But the reason isn't that they are gay, its the psychological damage from emotional trauma (repression, previous abuse in their lives, etc) that causes them to have these urges and act on them. Gay men in those positions are always going to have massive emotional issues from repressing their feelings. Out gay men aren't really sexually abusing anyone at the same rate. Straight men typically only sexually abuse when they were sexually abused as children. At least as it's been dumbed down to me by a friend that did his PHD thesis on this.

This is why I said it seems odd to be outraged by someone just being openly queer, when there are religious groups (right here at home) that are allowing their members to continue to sexually abuse the children around them, and shaming the victims into not coming forward, all while leadership encourages these situations not to be reported to authorities or referred to trained mental health professionals.

Yes. Mutilating a child's sex organs, doctor or not, is molesting.

Was it odd to all of WJ's followers that he was sleeping with children? No. They also supported it.

There is an allowable set of bounds for society. I may be on one side of allowable, and you on the other.. but being within the bounds is required for a society to function. Out side of those bounds (Murder, molesting, stealing, ect) we have a duty to step up and speak out.

The mentally ill, social justice, child mutilating, whackos have gone to far. And Bud Light supported that too much.

I don't give a shit how you identify, trans or preacher... if you diddle kids, you deserve the wood chipper, end of story. If I can't refer to pedophiles as "mentally ill" then this conversation has left reality.

I don't care what anybody does with their personal life, but once you threaten to come after kids then it's gloves off.

So, she molested herself? Is that what you're saying? Or did she mutilate another child's sex organs?

Charles Manson's supporters also supported murder. Doesn't make it right. As you said, society has a set of bounds and some people will fall on either end of it, and those lines change as society changes. WJ probably would make a biological argument for when it was "appropriate" for a grown ass man to have sexual relations with a girl, but I think we can all agree no grown ass man should be having (or even WANT to have) sexual relations with a 13/14/15/16 year old nowadays. What was arguably appropriate in Joseph Smith's time, is certainly not appropriate now which is why the Church has come full circle on that (and, you know, to get statehood) and why WJ is not having a good time in jail right now.

I guess where we differ is that I don't consider being trans as being the same as being a mentally ill child mutilator.

I agree. But that's a different argument.

Since your gloves are off, let's help kids.

'C'mon, Man!'

You know that's not what I'm saying.
Being trans is your choice. I don't care.

BUT, With the current STRONG push for youth trans, along with youth transitions and such.. Actively supporting the cause is an evil that Bud light drinkers obviously cannot agree with.

To add perspective to my position.. I currently have a niece who has a whacko mom. The niece (age 14) gets ALL of her social interactions from social media. In the last 2 years alone she has identified as a girl, a boy, non-binary, a cat, and most recently showed up to our house with ?sheep? horns. Total freak. Total extremes. Mom would have transitioned her to anyone of the current things she identifies as.
This is mental illness, and needs to NOT be supported.

I still don't get it. Again, it wasn't a national campaign....so WGAF? They did a promotion for someone trying to drum up sales. They never forced those views on anyone else. As far as I can tell, they aren't actively supporting issues that actually SUPRESS anyone's rights, so why the boycott?

I guess I see a lot of hysterics over something people just think is "icky" I don't agree with how visual and vocal the trans ideology has become, but not because I disagree with it...but that I feel it is being addressed to younger and younger kids, in areas that it should not be. I do also feel that it is mentioned and shown on more and more media, social and TV/Movies, when in reality, it is a tiny % of the population....but based on how it is in the for front of things, the issue is WAY more common then it really is....which is causing too many young people to question themselves, and/or try to fit in. HOWEVER, I don't correlate that to what Bud Light did. They created a special set of cans for a single person, of drinking age that other people have looked up to, or followed, or whatever, all to try and gain market share in that demographic.

I guess I am seeing how hypocritical the world is. People get in an uproar over things usually because it just doesn't align with their views....but if it did, they'd proudly support it. I have seen similar hypocrisy regarding the FBI raid/killing of the guy that threatened Joe Biden. If the same thing happened to a left wing (d) that had threatened Trump, most Trump supporters would be saying "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" or "F*#K around and find out" Because the guy aligns with their views, the FBI is evil and murdered this guy in cold blood. It's a tragedy that as a country (hell, as people in general) we can't look at the big picture and not be so offended/outraged by such trivial things that don't affect us.
