The problem is that once one thread gets shut down with information about peoples money, another one will shortly pop up due to the fact of more people coming out of the wood work looking for their money/donated goods, it happened many times with the whole Seth Hammond thing and now you will see it again with Steven C. Crabtree

Rob brings up a very important point; that people will wonder what happened, or what is happening with SWCF, or Crabtree. The other thread crossed over a fine line into very personal attacks by one or two on here who have been personally wronged by Crabtree for years, if not decades.. With that said, there are many questions that have been asked of Crabtree. Instead of answering any questions, he throws an empty threat of a law suit for slander at RME. What's that saying about "where there's smoke"?

It's ugly. This situation affects everyone of us. You think the land managers that our sport hinges on are going to be happy with our 4x4 crowd for long with sh!t like this going on? Nope. It affects all of us, and it should worry you what the land managers, businesses who donated goods/money, and land use supporting off-road enthusiasts will think about future "Land Use" events of any type. Crabtree may have just set the "Land Use" movement back a few years.

Thank goodness for honest events that go down each year; WOTR, OSRC, to name a few.

I don't see any specific "accusatory" information like was in the last thread. So far it's much more "general". I'd assume if that changes, there may be a threat of another lawsuit against RME and the thread will get pulled.

It sounds to me like they don't want us bringing it back up. But I'll let them moderate this instead of me. I'm not trying to pick sides, I just don't like the idea of an actual law suit against RME because we want to keep bringing it up. Not trying to start anything, I'm just sayin. (And i will openly admit that I don't know what it would take for RME to get sued, I'm just saying I'd like to play it on the safe side).

There's going to be a hole lotta discussion soon if Crabtree doesn't come clean.
Maybe a discussion with a district attorney?

I would say obtaining money and/or goods under false pretenses would be a crime of some sort, and if it exceeds a certain dollar amount it would be considered a felony.

If in fact these accusations are true, suing RME will be the least of his worries!!!

Not to me. Last I heard (with Larry McRae listening) they couldn't have walked off as the place was locked up except for during the event. I haven't heard anything since. I don't think Larry was to happy with the explanation, but I don't know him that well at all.

RME is protected under it's privacy policy. Why would someone threaten to sue RME? really why? What did THE BOARD do? is that the easiest way to get a potential damaging thread removed? if you knew it was damaging you (or exposing you)?

Pretty sure though that the "legal way" a raffle in UT works is that you cannot "buy" tickets you can "donate" money to receive tickets for said raffle.....Pretty sure you cannot pay (or promise to pay) bills with donated money.....

Hmmm...... Fraud?

Here's a couple important facts that can absolutely be stated, now:

USA-ALL has not received the money people specified to go to them.
U4WDA has not received the money people specified to go to them.

Legally, that alone is fraud. I am holding out hope that he is just super busy.

More later, I'm on my phone in the parking lot at WOTR. :D

Dont forget a local company that printed fliers for the event, that has still yet to be paid as of last week when I talked to that same vendor. I told him there is a great chance you wont get paid.

By the way great meeting you again tonight. Tacoma, you look way different without that weird thing on your face.
