No pics but I finally cut the rusted Flowmasters off the Dually and weld on a new muffler and tailpipe. Also did the oil change and checked the other fluids and topped off the truck box for spare stuff etc,,,
Did a huge Magnaflow muffler that has dual 3" inlets and a single 4" outlet. Then chopped off the dual tailpipes that were garbage and used a cheap pre-bent 4" tailpipe for a duramax. It all went together fairly easy for once and has a much more mellow tone.
The short flowmasters on a towrig have bugged me the whole time I owned it but they were just quiet enough, probably just because theres 40' of pipe and it was ran clear to the rear bumper, I didnt chop them off but once they rusted out I had no problem tossing them in favor of something better sounding...
Tomorrow Im gonna try to get the new tires mounted on my flatbed trailer and then figure out why the running lights stopped working on my enclosed on the way home from Tucson, That road through Wikuip shook it pretty good so its either a bad ground or short somewhere..
Have another trip the 1st week of November to Fomoso and I cant take the motorhome as Im too long and Im told California has been hassling and checking folks. Gonna take the dually and just get hotel rooms. If it was just a ticket Id chance it but they have been making people unhook and find a shorter towrig to move the trailers etc... Seems like a damn joke.. I remember guys getting hassled out near Glamis years ago but some of them probably deserved it, some of those guys rigs were Huge, Weekend warrior was building some crazy stuff back then...
My 40' coach pulling a 30' enclosed drives fine and I usually stick to the interstates and truck stops for the most part. I've never once been checked but CA is another animal..LOL
