Picked up a set of ATX beadlocks off of FB Marketplace a couple weeks ago for a good deal and finally got around to mounting them up. I used my friends tire machine, but it was still a ton of work and almost 4 hours of my life that I will not get back. Since these are -38mm offset, I was able to remove the wheel spacers I put on.

I added Apex valve stems for quick deflate.

I put 12oz of balance beads in each wheel and while not perfect, it will work until these tires get replaced next year. Not a lot of vibration, but if I daily drove it, it would be something I would definitely address.

I exercised my mechanical prowess and removed my Moab casualty so I could get a part number. Still trying to figure out HTF I broke it.

Sure did I love ATK’s and have owned many 😎 This one looks to be an 250/60 LQ. I had to make the same repair on the one I had.

Correct!
This is for Mr. ATK -Steve Pitts. He's in his '70s and he's still racing -in fact just won the super senior USRA 2024 championship on his other 250.

The owner of ATK (somehow it still exists...ish) (who used to be its lead engineer) Frank White lives close to me in Centerville.

Finished up my compressor shed and got that big ole thing outta my garage yesterday. I still need to do a hard pipe solution for shop air, just running a hose through the wall for now. Also need to build hangers for shovels and such. But also nice to get those out of the garage. The best part is I can barely hear the compressor running even when the man door is open. I’d call that a huge win!

Finished wiring in the heated seats.

Got a new Bestop top for the scrambler (caught it on sale). Now its time to re-do the roll cage a little so it doesn't destroy the new top (we don't need all that back there - no rear seat passengers). I cut the rear section off when we bought it a few years ago because it was stretching the current top and making the seems look like they might bust (old tiger top). So now, I'll cut out most of the structure at the "c" hoop. Then I'll add an "X" in at the "b" hoop.

Guess I need to figure out how to use this guy:

Oh man. So much ATK love in one post!! I’ve been watching Steve Pitts destroy modern bikes on his 2 strokes on another page.

I think Frank White and ATK did a fun run this last year. Would have been cool to go.
I’ve had 4 ATK 604 and 605s over the years. Pretty awesome bikes!! Definite love/hate relationship with them. Kind of a cool piece of dirt history though.

When I was in San Diego I had a 94 604, sold it, years later I bumped into the guy who eventually got it and I was on a 96 605. We ended up riding some good trails together a few times. Seeing 2 ATKs in one day, on the same trail is like seeing Bigfoot riding a unicorn threw the woods!!

Those Utah bikes were pretty incredible with their one sided frames and primo parts way back in the 90s.

I had a few minutes to mess with some stuff tonight so I went to replacing the leaky heater control valve in Pickles. I hate these stupid things and how overcomplicated they are and how the plastic nonsense always breaks so I replaced it with just straight hose. Done.

I went from all these hoses, plastic pieces and 10 hose clamps to 2 hoses and 4 clamps. I call that a win. Also, the hose is from a friend when he closed his shop years ago. I saved it, like a piece of 2x4, knowing it would come in handy some day lol
