Wearing a spare as a tophat?

Thanks for all the replys guys. I like that this thread is actually going somewhere. It may prove useful to me. Most interesting post to me so far is this: This is my big concern. My rig used to be taller and a lot more tippy till i lowered it a few inches and added a few hundred pounds...

Wearing a spare as a tophat?

I figured this was more a matter of opinion, so it didnt seem like I should post it in the tech forum. My question is: how many of you guys run trails with your spare on your roof, and how do you feel about it? Ive heard plenty of debating on this within my local club, and wanted to get some...

park brake options, 14 bolt discs

Im kinda in the same boat, so i guess i'll ask here... I've got a 10.25 rear end with discs, but no E-brakes. Im looking for new calipers also, (el dorado) but dont know if there are any others that might work/ be easier to find. I dont want to go the driveline or line-lock routes, so i pretty...

    Hydro EVERYTHING...

Yeah, I havent seen much on swapping in a larger pump from a bigger truck that would work, hence why Im looking into running the stock jeep pumps. Im not one for working with numbers and psi and all that crap anyway. Id rather have something that just bolts in so to speak, rather than have to...

    Hydro EVERYTHING...

Okay. well I was thinking about this all day today while I was bored as hell in class. I think Im going to attempt a double stock pump double res setup. Wont be for a while, as I dont have any money at the moment. (Just picked up a set of 38s and a 231/300 doubler... eek.) but planning ahead...

    Hydro EVERYTHING...

This is what I am worried about. Thats why Id like to mount dual pumps running independent of one another. One on a closed loop for steering, one on a closed loop for brakes. Not sure if I got that idea across in my original post, or if it just seemed like I wanted to run them inline.

    Hydro EVERYTHING...

I have a question. I just reviewed the thread in the tech how-to section on tapping a YJ box for homebrew hydro assist, and then followed a link from there on how to get more power out of a stock PS box. This is all well and good, and I'll be looking into doing this mod when money permits. I...

    Noob build.

Also, in the third picture, I just want to mention the safety aspect. Trust me when I say I was NEVER under the jeep while it was like that, and that this picture was taken in the 5 min. between the jeep supporting its own weight on the ground and the point where the axle was pulled. right...

    East Coast Calamity

Thanks for the warm welcomes! and the guy I bought the axles off of was running H1 rims on them, so I'm good to go. the only problem is that finding H1 rims on the east coast is not as easy a task as one would think. USA6x6 gets alot of bad press over on Pirate, but I think I'll take my...

Im a member of SiSoffroad. We're based out of CT. Those pics are from my rigs last trip to Rausch Creek offroad park. Ive been two times since, but the last time my TJ made the 4 hour trip, I snapped two axle shafts in a weekend... hence the jump from stock to D60/10.25s... running 35"s on...
