Use a piece of chalk on the driveway to circle the the contact patch at different pressures. You could line them all up and take photos.

First time Rubicon trip - tips and ideas please?

The last two years we have run our flat fender group through the Rubicon the week in between the two Jamborees. Pluses to this week: 1. All the out houses that they fly in for the Jamborees are still scattered all along the trail. We brought our trail potties, but we didn’t need them. 2...

Trip Report Willys in Pritchett Canyon

My experience with other tires is basically zero, but for me the NDTs perform pretty well on the rocks. Deep snow, no, soft sand, no, but on the slick rock they really are pretty good. On a less serious note, and to prove my point, I made this video comparison with, of course, no creative...

Trip Report Willys in Pritchett Canyon

When we went through in Sept. it was still pretty warm (95ish) and the traction seemed a lot better. I struggle a bit more this time on the big walls. Here's my climb of Axle Hill.

Trip Report Willys in Pritchett Canyon

On Saturday a group of folks from the Moab Friends for Wheelin' were kind enough to lead me and my fellow flatfender driver Jeff through Pritchett Canyon. This was our 2nd time through there this year. Jeff felt like he had some unfinished business with Rocker Knocker so he came back from...

Fawlty Towers - new trail at Sand Hollow

I understand and hope I didn’t come across as too arrogant or flippant. One of the reasons we usually stick to our mostly flat fender herd is that we know that sometimes we take a little longer to get through stuff than bigger rigs, but that is part of the fun for us. Working out ways to get...

Fawlty Towers - new trail at Sand Hollow

We're probably going to have a group of flat fenders at Sand Hollow first week of April. Maybe we can try this new one out. It looks fun and challenging. We can tell you if 35s are truly "required." Pictures look really awesome.

Trip Report Moab RocktoberCrawl - Oct 2018

Our small group of flatties (2 jeeps) had a fun time on Thursday running Metal Masher. We pretty much did all the bypasses on this soggy day. Here's a video of our run. I added a little something different on my video this time. I did a little voice over dubbing narration. Let me know if you...

JARED'S Birthday memorial run roll call.

Kevin, I really enjoyed last years event and felt privileged to be there. This year it's not in the cards for me, but my brother lives in Tocqueville and my mom lives in St' George, so I am sure to be down there at some future date. I would love to have a local guide me through Sand Hollow...

I am supposed to be meeting another group tomorrow but. I have t heard from them yet. We had planned PSM for Saturday, but Friday was left open. I’m trying to get more info now. I sure don’t want to be stuck in the campground waiting for them.

You all missed a fun little ride up Metal Masher this morning. No rai, a tiny little mist a time or two. Pasting in a post I made to another forum. https://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/grampas-jeep-on-metal-masher_topic43481.html Here in Utah the teachers union has a convention this week every...

So far it's just me and one other Flat Fender for Metal Masher. Other guy lives in Monticello and is driving up Thursday morning unless the weather scares us off. Since he has to drive up, I'm thinking 9 at the Gemini Bridges parking lot near the highway. Love to have more rigs along.

    Moab SXS tour

Here's a few videos I made this summer about Gemini Bridges, Hurrah Pass (1st half of Chicken Corners), and Tuscher Tunnel. Not so much trail reviews as destination reviews. For just plain gob smacking scenery Hurrah Pass is one of my favorites. None of these three rides are particulary...

Is Metal Masher still on for Thursday? If so, how do you all feel about my flat fender following along? honest answers please. I have plans to meet another group on Friday and Saturday, but I have a campsite booked for Wed night and don't really want to get on anything serious by myself on...

Trip Report Flat Fenders on Pritchett Canyon

We tend to do a lot of videoing on these trips. Brian Evens, owner operator of the blue modified flatty, made this version. You probably have to really like flat fenders to watch a 3d version of this, but this version does show more of my try at Son of Rock Pile at the 15:35 mark.
