    auto trans problem

My wife has a Sidekick 3-speed auto in her Samurai. Recently the tranny has started to stall on really steep inclines, such as Rockpile or White Knuckle. Any ideas what I should be looking for?

At this point, more letters are not necessary. I will be sure to post up regarding any help we may need when the time comes!

    Help us re-open Coyote Canyon

Working with the BLM on Coyote has been frustratingly slow. At this time, we remain optimistic that it will be re-opened, hopefully sometime this year. RME will be the first to know when it happens!

    Flex-A-Lite mojave heater's(any info/feedback?)

I'm not running any vents, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to fab up some kind of ducts off one of the outlets on the heater.

    Flex-A-Lite mojave heater's(any info/feedback?)

I am using the Summit Racing Mojave heater, which is similar to the Flex-A-Lite, but a little cheaper. It also puts out more CFM and BTU's. It puts out a lot of heat.

led blinkers stay on but wont flash

You need a flasher that works with the LED lights. I have used Super Bright LEDs before, they work great. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&category=CAR&Page2Disp=%2Fflashers.htm

    FS road closures around Moab

I was also impressed with the size of the turnout and the enthusiasm of the people in attendence. I don't know the total count, but I would guess that 250-300 people showed up, maybe more! Over 40 people spoke about their experiences during the meeting. The majority of people seemed to be...

Jeff Stevens' Dirt Squirrel (Fall 2008 Featured Rig)

I have built several samurai dashes over the years. Most have been built to suit a specific need, and don't have HVAC vents, although it is certainly possible to include them. If you are looking for a dash that is relatively easy to install and uses all the stock components, I would consider the...

Moab: Signs going up on closed trails/routes | BLM: closures are result of 2008 plan

That newspaper article was in response to a couple of "letters to the editor" the week before from people (locals) complaining about routes being closed. There was plenty of opportunity to request routes and comment on the alternatives during the RMP process. While I don't like to see routes...

    RMP's

I am pretty sure that all the travel plan maps for Moab are available on the Moab FO's website. They also have maps you can look at in the office, but I don't think they have any to give out. The lawsuit obviously has not stopped Moab BLM from signing the trails. In fact, I am told that they...

    Heater options

I doubt that any of those 12 volt heaters are going to put out much heat. I just put a heater from Summit Racing (part number SUM-991102) in my new project, and I can say that it puts out a LOT of heat. It replaces your existing heater and puts out 28000 btu's.

    My Wifes first run.

The Pickle is a short, fun trail. It is no where near as difficult as Pritchett, but it still probably wouldn't be my choice to take someone on for their first trail. I have run it many times (just did it today, as a matter of fact). The first obstacle is a pretty steep, ledgy climb that can be...

Jeff Stevens' Dirt Squirrel (Fall 2008 Featured Rig)

I liked the look of the stock grill too, but in this case it was just so much easier to do it this way. The stocker would have had to be narrowed so much, there would'nt have been much left, and mounting would have been a pain. Besides, I'm no Suzuki purist :), as long as it's functional and...

Jeff Stevens' Dirt Squirrel (Fall 2008 Featured Rig)

I did it that way mainly for a little better headroom, since I raised the seats a bit for better vision. I also figure it will help protect the windsield in a roll.

Jeff Stevens' Dirt Squirrel (Fall 2008 Featured Rig)

Marc - I just bent up some sheet metal and bolted / sheet metal screwed it in. I used the stock instrument gauge cluster. I built it in two pieces so it would be easier to take out if I need to get to the wiring or ecm behind the gauges.

Jeff Stevens' Dirt Squirrel (Fall 2008 Featured Rig)

Well after building rigs for friends for the last couple of years, it was finally time to do a major re-build on mine. It worked great the way it was, but it had been re-done so many times without cleaning up the old stuff, it was getting pretty ugly. On top of that, I couldn't use the factory...
