Here's how I did mine, which worked great with my old camper. (was a bit short for my current one, so I had to redo) I bought a Curt receiver tube like this...

That looks nice! I want to see what a 1700 amp inverter looks like though. ;) Does your truck have a 2.5" hitch? If so, that makes an extension REALLY easy. Just a chunk of 2.5" hitch tube, which gives you your extension as well as an adapter to 2" drawbars all in one.

Is the drivetrain all hooked up to the axles? If there are no driveshafts, or your Tcase is in Neutral, or some other way the drivetrain can spin freely, it will do so as you shift through gears. Then when you try to go to Park, it has to stop spinning before the Park pawl can engage.

You could use a digital meat thermometer to take some readings. There are some starting around $10 on Amazon. :) There are wireless ones too, if you want to get fancy. Or just print some TPU and stick it under there, and see how it is affected before printing a large thing.
