The Cherokee 904 runs a bigger input shaft and they have a lock up style converter so they are slightly more desirable but if this is for an ecotec buggy project the YJ 904 is a better option just due to the fact aftermarket valve bodies and what not are not available for the lock up style 904...

Are you just looking for a 904 with the GM 60 degree bell housing?

If you pump the brake pedal a few times does it build pressure and hold? We have done a few of these kits and never had an issue. I assume they didnt install the calipers upside down? I have seen that a handful times in my day.
