I'd take either. If you like the ride of the Dmax, get one. The front end seems softer than my F150, the rear stiffer.
I find it interesting that both trucks are around the same price. Is that typical? I haven't priced used trucks for a while.
I don't know why you'd want a '99 over the '02...
It got expensive at times, but for both the burb and eXcursion purchases, I test drove several (15+), and calculated actual mpg when I did. I'd pick it up, top off the tank, drive somewhere, top it off when I was done. Then I had actual real world numbers for THAT vehicle. No surprises.
YMMV...
We'll probably hang on to the 30 front, it works for what we need. I was thinking of selling it, partly because it won't be driven, and partly to fund a car for his brother (not into jeeps). But, he wants a ready-to-wheel rig when he gets back from his mission cuz he'll be totally focused on...
Hey, so far so good. There were a couple of oil leaks but Craig took care of them. My kid has about a week left before he leaves and he's driving the jeep all over the place.
Did you get the 350 installed?
I have some ramps to drive the tow rig up on if you want to use them. I also have some foldable ATV ramps that might work if the rod isn't too heavy. I've had to do all of the above to get cars on my trailers before. My new one is even higher than my old one, I actually had to use blocks to...
The 5.3 is a pretty decent motor, but driving each, I just like the f*rd truck better. We have both at work. I drove a 1500 crewcab with the 4.8 out to a mine near Elko and back yesterday. Not bad, but not as comfy as my F150. The 4.8 has zero bottom end. Also, it doesn't corner as well...
GM Dana 44 frontaxle, 4.56 gears (nearly new), Lockrite, 8lug. $500 or best offer. Comes with 8lug rollers. Putting this on KSL too.
The axle has a tie-rod too, just not shown in the pic.
Best is text to ate oh one, too 0 won, to ate 8 six :D
Purchased, and now installed. Just need the exhaust to be done.
Can't wait to have it back running. Maybe a couple more outings this summer, then Matt leaves for 2 years. We were going to keep it around, but now we are thinking about selling it.
Super cool!
They've been positively identified in Tollgate before, but not photographed. I saw something similar last fall/winter up there. Not sure what it was, I just know what it wasn't (cougar, wolf, bobcat, coyote, etc).
I have not intentionally chosen to not do anything yet. I looked at recovery attachment points front and rear and sized the d-ring accordingly. Tow hook or whatever it may be called, I really don't recall what I saw. I just wanted to know there was something before I was digging through snow...
Yes, we have a cabin up Tollgate. Apparently Outbacks _never_ get stuck up there
We've never worried about getting stuck in it...mainly because my wife only takes it up there when others are up there. And because we have a vehicle-puller-outer (see pic). I have a specially sized...
