Ok...engine is done. I got a quote for 6K to rebuild it so I decided to do it myself. I honed the cylinders, re-ringed the pistons and replaced all the gaskets and seals. Let's hope it runs. ??? Also! I removed about 100 billion pounds of old caked oil and dirt and added some new paint...

Well I haven't made a lot of progress lately since I've been studying for my pilots license practical. Good news...that's all done and I am a fully licensed pilot! I haven't had much to share but I have been making some progress on this project. I have finally cleaned most of the goop off...

It is 102" long. I'm thinking I may just keep it and extend it myself. New these are like $4500 and the longer extended one I will need is more like $5600 so I'm thinking it might just make sense for me to dig in to this one and stretch it myself and save the money.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'll go for it. I kind of enjoy drawing up these things. I don't think I will be doing much tube work for a while. I think most of what I will be drawing is cross members, bumpers, brackets etc. Most of this stuff is fairly easy to draw in 2D on Autocad...

Hey guys. I'm looking at some software to design brackets, bumpers, tube-components. Has anyone used Bend-tech before? I've been using Auto-cad light which is decent but the learning curve is steep for drawing 3d components. Any feedback?

Those trucks are rad for sure but not my style. I want something I can haul my jeep with and also throw a few pallets of material on the back for work. :)
