Check your axle weight. Could you get away with running a single on the rear? Remove the bad tire, or steal a rear to run on the front. That'll get you home so you can deal with it at your convenience. Just pack a bottle jack and a 3/4 drive to get the lugnuts off/on.

A few years back we used a motorcycle jack to pull the 6spd and t-case on my dad's truck to do the clutch and rear main. Don't know if it was as good as a trans jack would be, but we were successful.
