    231 T-case expert advice needed!!!

Turns out the cap was a part of a bearing to keep the trans-x and trans fluid separate. Hammering out the cap means replacing the bearing, I wasn't able to tack weld it back since the weld splatter would foul the roller bearings. Bought a replacement at Mepco, so all is good.

    231 T-case expert advice needed!!!

In switching the T-cases on Redrock5.9's ZJ, I unintentionally popped the metal cap out of the center of the input shaft. We were swaping the input shafts from his old 249 to the new 231 we're installing. I can see that the cap stops fluid from flowing between the t-case and the...

    I Need Flex!!!!

Well, I own a pretty cool XJ with a camaro motor and a nice suspension and clean body, I have a YJ with a moderate lift and 35's, and I had a FJ40 worked over (moment of silence :( ). So I've had one of each, and by far the coolest in my opinion was my 40, the other two just don't have the...

    My cruiser's replacement, a 95 YJ

For now, just street it, new top, rock sliders, and little stuff, wheel it a little here and there. After it's worn down a bit I'll chop it, stretch the wheelbase, heavy axles, and all that stuff. I could list a ton of things I want to do to it but you guys all have the same imagination that I...

    I Need Flex!!!!

When trimming the rear, (I'd say stick with 33's) don't cut the pinch welds off, cut a slot in it and hammer it flat. That does three things. Keeps the structural part of the weld in tact, keeps a jagged edge from cutting your tire and keeps water from making its way through the two pieces of...

    I Need Flex!!!!

Some people are fine with removing the front swaybar. I disconnected mine and drove around for a few months and thought I was fine, however when I reconnected it I noticed a big difference. It's kinda like you won't notice when it's gone but you will notice when it's there if that makes any...

    I Need Flex!!!!

By the looks of your avatar your cherokee is stock or pretty much close to it. Yank that rear bar off completely, you probably won't even notice it's gone. You can cut the retaining straps off your rear springs, that will allow them to separate a little more when drooping. With smaller tires...

    Yellowstone snowmobile ban

Yellowstone is great if you want to see wild life and interesting geology. As far as the snowmobiling goes, it's really just a mode of transportation within the park. You're not allowed to leave the road and if you're turning around you have to do it within the road. Considering that. I...

    Thieves

Hmmm....reading this whole thing just makes me mad(I hate being mad). I've had especially bad luck with theiving bastards. My jeep was stollen and stripped and my cruiser was stollen and is still gone. This sort of thing makes you feel like crap. My piece of advice is don't let yourself get...

    Stolen Landcruiser

Sorry it's been a while since I've been on. Things seem to be super busy lately. I stored the cruiser here at my work, not inside the shop, but outside. The more I think about it the dumber I realize I was to have started it right in front of him. I always asumed that it was pretty safe...

    Stolen Landcruiser

Nope, nothing. The cops are totally useless. Unwilling to do anything, not even with the information I have. They won't even return my calls. Nothing's shown up. I've been keeping a close eye on the adds and always keeping my eye out for the truck or anything familiar. Unfortunately...

    Re-spline an axle shaft

Yep, that was me, I was looking to have a shaft cut for my cruiser before it got stolen. http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/showthread.php?t=13348&highlight=respline There's a machine shop here in Murray that can do them too. I can't remember the name right now though.
