AF Canyon Night Run - July 10th, 2010

Since we have about 800 threads about the damage to mineral basin, I will be keeping my updates limited to the thread below so that we can keep things organized and only have to post once. Thanks for the volunteering, I will hold you too it...

AF canyon Mineral Basin wheelin'/camping next weekend 25,26,27

K, so instead of this becoming another bitching thread, why don't we turn this into a positive? Yes, driving around the washout is a bad thing. You can see the visible damage in the thread I started yesterday about the trail being closed. Driving on grass or over trees is a bad thing. The...

    Mineral Basin is CLOSED!!!

Hey everyone, A group of us ran up to Mineral Basin this morning to survey the damage. There is a big ROAD CLOSED sign at the start of the trail, and it is for good reason. The bridge below the rock garden has been completely washed out and is impassible by staying on the trail. There...

AF Canyon Night Run - July 10th, 2010

Went up this morning to survey the damage. The bridge below the rock garden is completely gone. I am going to be talking with the FS this week to find out what plans are in store to reopen the road. There is some major damage around the wash out from idiots driving across and disregarding the...

Opinions on the Pro Comp Mud Terrains?

Honestly, dealing with these all the time. They are good tires. Really comparable to the old BFG KM's. Personally, I would recommend the Procomp Extreme MT, better traction, better ride, better quality, better tread life, better look...

    Wheel Question

I don't know why you would like a 16.5" wheel personally. They are becoming harder and harder to find tires for. Most tire manufacturers are not even making a tire for a 16.5" wheel. I would look at going to a 17x9 myself.

U4WDA & USA-ALL: What happened to Canaan Mountain?

Not sure about things from USA-All's end, But I have talked a bit with Dan Jessop. Right now, his lawyers are not moving forward until they receive more payment on the outstanding bill. We are working on some methods to help raise money to cover the $35,000 current bill. I don't know the...

    Where to live in Utah?

I would recommend Pleasant Grove, Lindon, or Cedar Hills. All about the same area, 15-25 min from provo, nice quiet communities. Lindon would be my fist choice, but cost of living is a little bit higher. Also nice because its about 20 minutes from SLC also. If you're not worried about...

    Bridgewater or Lee????????

I met Mr. Lee at the February Capitol Rally... Talked for quite awhile. He has a vested interest in off-roading. He is a Jeep owner and OHV enthusiast. I did dodge my question when I asked if he was a member of the U4WDA, but in general he seamed to have a good working knowledge of current...

Discussing Poor Performance of Vendors in Our Community

As a vendor, I like to hear feed back, good or bad. I don't see an issue with either discussion as long as it is based on fact and not hear say. I know many times I've had a customer get irate about an issue I have had no control over, or because they remembered the conversation incorrectly...

    Temporary Closures-AF Canyon

The canyon itself is open. Trails are not open to protect from the amount of rain and snow received over the last couple weeks. I doubt the trails are even passable right now with the amount of snow up there.

    Temporary Closures-AF Canyon

This is the next step to us finally being able to build "shoulder" gates on the trails, to keep people off the trails when they are most vulnerable. Now if people just obey the gates, and don't try to find ways around them.
