Pictures. Isn't that perdy
Looks like the engine has been rebuilt at some time. There are marks on all the rod ends (numbers/letters). So that is good news for me.
I just need to do a few more things before we go down next week.

So I had a massive oil leak coming from the oil pan. I pulled it last night, painted it, cleaned it. Resealed it. Changed the oil filter, new oil. Its almost ready for my trip to Moab in two weeks.
I was just up there. Near Lander. Just off South Pass. Loads of places to ride. It took 3.5 hours to get there from my house. I loved it!
Wait, you are from Utah, nevermind, it sucked. Don't go there! ha ha
Ha, I haven't used a high lift jack since I knocked my self out with one. Circa 2003. A good old bottle jack will fix most situations along with a winch.
I'm a little tired of it right now. I just want to take it to Moab. Maybe if everything holds together for awhile, I'll take it down the first week of October.
I put some stop leak in the oil. I'm hoping it'll hold it for a while. Ive been driving it today. Maybe I'll work up the courage...
After another broken starter bolt and broken helicoil I finally got pissed off enough to fix the issue permanently.
I drilled the hole out and then tapped it for a 14 mm bolt. Stock is 10mm. This shall not snap again. Started right up and didn't make an weird noises like it used to. Now I just...
Serpentine belt drive is done.
I deleted the power steering pump because there wasn't any room. I may mount it where the air conditioner compressor would go, or go with electric power steering. We shall see.
I just need to hook up my coolant hoses again and then the wiring to the alternator...
no not really, the stupid v-belt kept falling off, so I'll probably do the turbo this winter. I'll have the serpentine set-up finished today or tomorrow. Its all bolt on.
You start by hitting your hand with a hammer everyday. Lol.
On a side note. I'm now at the Walmart pharmacy getting a tetanus shot. I stubbed my big toe on the turbo drain tube and my wife, mother and mother-in-law think I'm going to die the tetanus. Lol
I turned it into a smiley face though...
Turbo Conversion is underway. My only issue is seeing if it will clear stuff under the hood.
I think I'm going to give up on traditional power steering and go with electric power steering assist off a car. There just isn't a lot of room under the hood for a pump. I've been doing some...
I'm going to sit in my basement working until it starts, then watch it with my welding helmet on in my front yard. LOL. I'm lazy.
Drive safe, don't get road rage.
