    2011 Rubicon Unlimted

Still for sale! Any suggestions guys? I have about 6 weeks before I lose my work allowance for this rig and would like to get it sold by then. Thanks!

Jeep Project "Culpepper" 5.2L V8 Swap

Be wary of using an XJ front drive shaft on the rear. They are cheap and would work, but would be better suited for a spare. They have a fairly small diameter slip spline and aren't overly strong. For a rear shaft behind a V8, it would likely be worth the investment to have a local shop build...

For Sale - Best Offer 2012 Rubicon Takeoffs

They should be just like my 2011 Rubicon wheels/tires. They are an LT255/75R17 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM (not the KM2 which have the Krawler style tread). The rims are 17x7.5" and have a 5 on 5" bolt pattern and about 5" of backspacing. Jared

    2011 Rubicon Unlimted

Correct on the color - it is Sahara Tan. Thanks for the comments, guys. It is listed on KSL but sadly hasn't generated much interest. For some reason their fraud filter blocked my ad for the first few days and so I missed out being near the front of the line. I may try deleting the ad and...

    2011 Rubicon Unlimted

Thanks, Greg - We are going to miss it. I wanted to keep the factory look as much as possible. The lift is subtle with the stock wheels and tires and it really doesn't make them look too small or awkward. But it really gets the belly and rockers away from the ground! I read a ton of very...

    2011 Rubicon Unlimted

2011 Rubicon Unlimted - Price reduced I am trying to relocate back home to Utah and need to unload the Jeep to make this possible. I owe about $34,500 on it and am willing to take a loss to sell it. I'm currently asking $29,900. It is fully loaded with everything but that gay "MyGig"...

    Making a monster part II

I hope you are planning to use it for SHORT single track trails. Those 500's have got to be some of the thirstiest bikes ever made! Have plans for a 5 gallon can strapped somewhere? I too admire your positive attitude about the bike and other bikes you've shared your restorations with us...

    365/75R16 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2

Anybody run these yet? They're CHEAP for a 38x14.50 mud terrain! I'm considering getting set for my JK Rubicon Unlimited, and squeezing them on to about 4.5" of lift, with 5.38 gears. I'm also looking for people's thoughts on the durability of the drive train. The Jeep will be wheeled...

    Beater/project Yamaha WR450f

This is the first I've seen of the WR, Greg. Nice find and great work on the rehab! How do you like that Maxis rear tire? I have the same one sitting in the garage waiting for the Kenda to wear out. Jared

    Spring '11, Big ADV ride

Greg is almost right. I live near Tucson, two hours south of Phoenix for the time being. I would be happy to pick up anybody who is on my way though!

    Winter motorcycle project; DR650

Greg - I was wondering when you'd finally get that beast put back together. Huge congrats on the RMZ fork project - I'm glad to see you got the results you were looking for! I have to admit though... I'm a little worried that I won't keep up now. Looks like I'll need some more practice...

HITR Motorcycle Trip (tentatively May 13-15)

I just saw this after chiming in on your Memorial Day run... I can't do both, as it's about 600 miles each way to make these runs now that I live down south. So is this just a day trip? I would LOVE to do this route, but 1200 miles of driving for a day trip is tough to justify! Jared

    Spring '11, Big ADV ride

How much fuel does your 450 hold, Caleb? My DRZ-400 packs 4 gallons and can do about 200 off-road miles to empty. I think with a small bag up front, a backpack, and my Giant Loop bag this is a doable trip for my bike. I would need to acquire some compact camping gear.... all my stuff is the...

    Winter motorcycle project; DR650

I believe that in general, bikes are sprung for the weight and then valved for the ride. You will likely find that your springs are a bit soft and your valving is a bit firm. But they could even each other out well. What I'm really waiting for is how you like the folding mirrors on your HDB...

    My Anti-Tension Kutentraub enduro build

This is a typo, right? I assume you mean 248. I'm betting the motor weighs in at 90+ alone. Jared

    The Yamaha WR250R

Not to add insult to injury, but the DR-Z400E (e-start) weighs in at only 262 pounds, a whopping 36 pounds lighter than your 250. My kick start DR-Z400 weighs in at only 249 pounds dry in stock form. The street-legal-out-of-the-box 400S, the heaviest version, weighs in at 291 pounds dry. All...
