    Is Utah loosing its appeal?

I’m I Arizona, about an hour from the California border. Most all of the new neighbors moving in are from California, or oddly enough, New York. But, there are no decent jobs here so most are like me who cashed out and retired early. Salt lakes traffic, snow, and smog finally drove me out...

New garage shop construction (p2) - Steel ceiling / walls or drywall?

I’d be more worried about it sweating in the winter if you pull a wet car in there. Why not just Sheetrock? It’s cheap and simple to install and finish.

    Grandmas Skylark project

Next time you have to do this, drive the back tires of your truck up on a set of car ramps first. My car sits a ton lower than yours, and it’s the only way I can get it in the trailer.

    Towing doubles. Who’s done it?

Has something changed up there? Double bumper pulling used to be illegal. If it’s not, then it should be again!

    Today I Want This....

I’m with you. If you can see the headlights, and it doesn’t have chrome bumpers I’m not at all interested. No cane here yet, but my mountain bike is kicking my ass on a daily basis.

    Shop / Tools Tire Vulcanizing

That last picture was for repairing inner tubes using hot patches. It was an awesome way to do it as a kid since it involved smoke and fire.

Ideas for a quick local mini-vacation?

You consider yourself a car guy but you never considered cruising down Route 66? Shame on you! We used to ride on it regularly and loved every trip. It’s also the reason I live where I do.

I wouldn’t be opposed to hauling it up there, but I couldn’t partake in the smoke show. It’ll be in pieces to paint.

Where did you find a booth? I can’t find a single one down here, but there’s a half dozen shops who would be happy to spray it for me. 🙄

    UTV Winches

I have the Viper Elite 4000 on the two door, and the 4500 on the four door. They’re 7 years old now, and still going strong. The 4000 has mostly been for pulling the 4 door out because they high center on everything. The 4500 has mostly been used to pull me back onto four wheels, because I like...

Wanted Jeep Fleetvan, FC, or old bread type delivery van

Not old enough to be really cool, but a nice wrap might cure that, The price seems fair, and it’s definitely the most practical way to go. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/d/pahrump-1970-grumman-step-van/7478772615.html

You might want to look into YJ flares. They will require minor trimming of the front fenders, but I’d imagine your choices would be much greater.

I’ve screwed up plenty of paint, but never felt bad about it because they were all free anyway.

    Bart's 2007 JKUR

I ran into this exact same problem on the LJ. When it came time to build a JK, I went with long front arms, and short rears. It worked out much better for me.
