General Tech What did you work on Today?

I replaced the over bathroom skylight on my 5th wheel last year as well. I omitted the screws as well because I believe that's what caused mine to crack from the factory. I chose an un-tinted frosted glass to keep the extra light in the WC. I did butyl caulking and installed it floating. Looks...

Talk to me about big adventure bikes.

You can come borrow one of my bikes for a bit to try one out. I've got a busted foot so I won't be riding for a while.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Kevin, I built a set like that 10 years ago (with 1/4" square tube side even and I thought "man these are indestructible" then last year I rented a mini Ex and ruined the centers in 1 day LoL

For Sale SOLD LARGE & high capacity 110v air compressor

I'm sure your right about mfgs inflating specs. I can snap a pic of the info plate on the motor if you'd like. Pro: It's a quality and rebuildable GE motor not some knockoff no-name garbage. Edit: the compressor MFG listed the motor as 5hp. The plate on the General Electric motor lists it at...

For Sale SOLD LARGE & high capacity 110v air compressor

I would estimate it pulls less than 20amps (since I had it on a 20amp GFCI outlet). CFM? A lot. 5 or 6 @ 90psi at least. It ran my Air over hydraulic tube bender which consumes TONS of air. The GE motor is 1hp.

    Glockman's Rubi LJ

The HP44 center is way better than the rubi TJ lp44. Bigger ball joints Bigger knuckles Locking hubs for gas mileage (minimal) No stupid D30 unit bearings Way bigger brakes. 1/2 non tinfoil tubes. I ran a 1976 F150 44 in my 99 Cherokee. https://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=927699

Talk to me about big adventure bikes.

Russ, if you like the 890 you would absolutely adore my Ducati Desert Sled. It feels light and nimble and it makes the most glorious noise. It's also not a pile of plastic. Ducati has produced their L-Twin air-cooled motor in one form or another since the 1970s and so it is supremely reliable as...

Talk to me about big adventure bikes.

You can get a standard clutch on an Africa Twin. It's 100hp. 77lb/ft. It's stupid fast. Fuel injection. Huge tank. Excellent suspension. Good fuel mileage. Honda reliability. The biggest drawbacks of the 990/950 ktms are carbs and poor fuel mileage. I averaged 30 combined and sold the bike...

    Rokon

No idea. I'd call D&K Motorcycles. 801-864-3419 Ask for Donnie. It must be fairly competitive- he told me he's sold 7 or 8 of them this year already.

    Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled

Clipped a rock with the brake lever and it was contacting the skid plate when I pressed down the pedal. Modified it a bit. All good now.
