Our 8 day trip wasnt too bad. Basically we just packed more clothes and food. On the food part. We drove down empty and waited till the last town to get food. Only got enough for a few days while between destinations. Helped alot .

Throw a big cooler on it. Maybe the unit with a fan. Also install a temp gauge to keep an eye on things. Change the fluid every year. Wire the fan to a switch you can turn on when temps rise - usually at low speeds. Should help.

I would think brakes also. My old rig had a self adjuster that was for the wrong side and it loosened up on fins-and-things . Leaving me with only a 1/4 pedal but I could still stop. Check lugnuts too. They can make weird noises.

You should get a AAA card. My dad gets us cards cause his big ol motor home would be a massive tow bill if he ever needed a tow. He gets me a card so I dont have to call him when im broke down. So far I've used it twice this year.

I have a 231 evenfire. Its almost the same engine. I would agree with the dizzy 180* off. Point it to the # 1 spark plug and use a flatbladed screwdriver to make sure the oil pump lines up. Took me a few tries when I swapped the engine into another car.

Looks like im the one needing a rescue tonight. It threw the belt off on the freeway. Thought is was the AC pump screeching. Turns out the idler pulley bearing seized. One weird thing is the pulley up closer to the block than usual. Sent from my Z740 using Tapatalk
