Project "Swollen Goat" gets under way

You're telling me. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about where this project is headed. I am now strongly considering switching to 2.5" airshocks all the way around. By doing so, I wont have to cut the rear frame section out again. Big bonus. I have really been impressed with how...

In N out burger draper location

Definitely agree here. Jenn and I have truly made an effort this year to support the local utah business even when it costs more. We have been enjoying the B&D burger down the street ourselves. I hear millies is good, but they aren't open on sunday:squint: No doubt. We drove by today and the...

    Toyo Tire questions

I've run both BFG KOs and Toyo ATs on my superduty. They both seemed to wear about the same. The BFGs seemed to perform better in the snow, and the Toyos were better in the rain and were also a little quieter. However, the Toyo and Nitto ATs are probably the lamest looking premium ATs on the...

    D*mn that felt good!

There is no amount of money that I could have sold the computer for, that would have even come close to the gratification I felt when it hit the concrete. Besides, it's not like Jenn goes without. About 10 years ago I had a DVD player that would randomly hang. We had guests over and were...

    D*mn that felt good!

As a matter of fact, I did open the front door and throw it out in the street. In my less than impatient years, I've smashed pagers, cellphones, TVs, DVD players, speakers, laptops, cars and other various devices. They each had it coming:rofl: Must be from the 18+ years i've spent working...

Project "Swollen Goat" gets under way

Thanks sean. Tierod is 7/8" and DL/Trackbar is 3/4 Thanks, again. Moved 2" forward. Man I wish it was getting close:greg: The rear may be much easier. I haven't notched it yet. I wanted to get the P-arm and DL installed to get an idea of how much to cut. I ended up mounting it under...

Project "Swollen Goat" gets under way

FINALLY have everything mocked up and welded in the front end. I ended up buying a custom pitman arm from Mike@summit that fixed my clearance issues. I need to weld some shock tabs up, gusset my upper frame mount and get some good hardware. With the weather is this mild, I hope to make some...

    LJ Backspacing

Yes, the stock 2004-2006 LJ and TJ "ravine" wheels measure out at 15x8 with 5.5" BS. The rubicon rims are 16x8 with 5" BS. We added a 1.25 spacer to Jenn's ravine wheels and it worked perfectly. Anywhere from 4.75 to 4.25 BS on an 8" rim will work well running 35s and not stick out too far...

What do I do to my LJ?

Ah, I think I remember Jesse mentioning that;) I forgot to ask. Do you have a rubi LJ? 37s are a bastard tire. You have to run the same axles, steering, and wheels to safely run 37s as 40s, and don't get the benefits of a 40. 37s are too heavy and place too much strain on componets for a...

What do I do to my LJ?

my 2c I personally think AEVs stuff is insanely overpriced and highlines look silly with massive flares. Tube fenders are great if you are bashing them into the rocks on a consistent basis, but at some point you have to put your money where you'll see the most results. That is usually axles...

    Someone painted my tires...

Indeed they do. I once got a fine for parking in my own driveway. The rear bumper was overhanging the sidewalk:rolleyes: I took pictures of it and blew them up. Went down to enforcement and got the ticket dismissed.
