    Chop Saw burned out...

My Dewalt is still going strong. Funny, I've had mixed luck with HF power tools. Their more expensive drill press is a good piece; but their cheap benchtop model was crapola. As a general rule I won't buy any electric power tools there, except for the 4" grinders. haha EZ

    Question about SOA

You may as well plan now on getting a CV style driveline. My Scrambler is a crap load longer than a wranger and I still had a bit of a vibe with a two joint driveline. Also.....when you are figuring the angle witha C V, it is good to have the pinon angle a degree or two down at rest. That...

    Had to add a rack

Hmm, nice! It looks like it is out of round tube......what size? 1" ? Does anyone here have a die for their bender for 3/4" square tube? I've always had a hankerin' to build something similar to that out of square tube. James, out of curiosity, did you consider building one larger than...

    Bikini tops

I built a custom full length bikini top for my jeep, worked out pretty nice. I got some marine grade vinyl from sugarhouse awning and canvas. If you don't have seamstress skills you can get it all cut out and have them sew it for you. EZ (Vinyl comes from strip mines, you know).

    Achtung, BryansToy!

I was there over thanksgiving. That road is graded the whole way, but is very steep. I was a little nervous getting out of my jeep to take the pic, worried that it would roll back over me. At the very bottom of the canyon where you turn off the main highway to Potash I noticed that *IF* you...

Monkeyboy, There is a really good article on www.BC4x4.com regarding plasma cutters. Oh here it is. http://www.bc4x4.com/pr/2003/hypertherm/ EZ

Looking for some decent gauges, look here...

Got mine from Summitt......they had a VDO package deal where you got the speedo plus four basic gauges for some odd amount, and it included all the senders, etc. Pretty slick. EZ

Looking for some decent gauges, look here...

I hear you on the tachs. The "sender" unit was acutally just that...the fuel level sender only. It didn't have the brass tube going through it for the fuel pickup, etc. Wierd. So I combined the two (my old one and the new one) and it worked out perfectly. I was pretty happy to have a fuel...

    Jeep Liberty lightbar

Good call, Brad. Most lights are designed to be as low on the vehicle as possible. I tried mounting some pencil beams on my roof rack on my Rodeo years ago and they are a lousy place to put them. The glare shines on the hood and makes it really difficult to see, plus if there is fog or dust...

Looking for some decent gauges, look here...

Caleb, Mine are VDO, and the fuel gauge came with its own sender so it is irrelevant whether or not ou have a GM system, etc. It was pretty slick too....it was adjustable to any size tank so your gauge will always read accurately. I really like the programmable speedo too, I set it with my...

    Well what do you know?

    Well what do you know?

That's been done before....... :) I agree with Marc. If you take all the bypasses then you're really not doing the trail. Generally speaking, bypasses were created by people who have no business being on the trail. If you can't do it the way it's designed then maybe you shouldn't be...

Garage Heaters- What's in your garage??

Yeah, I said that in my original post. THAT kind needs power to run the flue vent blower. All it is is a little blower that pushes out the burnt gasses. However, one like mine has no such blower and does run without electricity, that's what I meant. EZ

Garage Heaters- What's in your garage??

Sure it is! You're missing the big picture! Remember the BIG winter of '03 when everyone lost their power for 5 days in a row? You can go live in the warm garage until the power comes back on! :D I crack me up EZ

Garage Heaters- What's in your garage??

If I had known about that price before I bought mine I may have changed my mind and got one. The extra work of going through the wall to do a flue, etc. (although not difficult) was more than I was willing to deal with considering all the work I've done so far. OH! One other thing. If the...

Garage Heaters- What's in your garage??

Yeah.....here are some of the common pros and cons: With radiant you feel the heat immediately (assuming you are within range). With forced air, it will take some time to get the garage air temp where it is comfortable. Radiant is quieter, does not blow dust around the place like air can...
