    General Tech SAS Mitsubishi Montero

They are pretty capable as is. Contrary to what you may read, including on Montero forums, you can run 33s (285/75r16) with just a 2" Old Man Emu lift. I was reading that 265s or "skinny 33s"- 255/85 would fit. But I tried the larger tire after looking at clearance and had no problems at all...

No more state safety inspection in utah

I disagree with the comparison to gun control. My gun only becomes dangerous to others if I choose to commit a criminal act. I think it is safe to say most of the general public doesn't think much about wear and tear on their vehicles & few will take them in for an annual "check up". I will...

No more state safety inspection in utah

The problem with the "personal responsibility" argument in this case, is that it puts others at risk. Don't want to use your seatbelt or ride a motorcycle without a helmet? Stupid but your choice and you don't put others at risk. Don't want to maintain a safe vehicle? That puts everyone else...

No more state safety inspection in utah

I agree it is a bad idea. I heard the argument that it isn't needed because faulty vehicles cause a very small percent of accidents in the state. To me, that says the program works. I think the current system was a good compromise where it wasn't required yearly on newer vehicles.

    How come....

For me, shift in focus (kids in high school sports, horses etc) have kept me away more than I wish. Hope in near future can get out more.

East Coast - Must See Destinations

Spent a week a couple summers ago in Up State New York. Hit Niagara Falls and really enjoyed the LDS Church History Sites in the area. Second the Florida Keys and New Orleans comments as well.

    Another tire thread

I know we see lots of tire question threads. But, wondering what folks' experience has been on tire life of the following: Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 (set of 4 about $900) Goodyear Wrangler Durarac (set of 4 about $1,100) General Grabber AT3 (haven't priced) Big question is if any...

King of The Bummers! Who's In?

Sounds like a blast and would be interested in joining a team. But agree with others that should be done on private land or with permit.

    Hunting buddy/ "mentor" needed :)

Most of my deer hunting is a mix of road hunting (partially getting to areas, partially my dad isn't healthy enough to do much else and partially it can work well!) with multiple hikes a day, usually covering 1-3 miles each time. Last October my cousin shot a nice 3-4 (his first buck) less than...

    Nissan xterras

I bought an 08 Off-Road edition(comes with rear locker) about 1 year ago. Sadly not much use of that off-road aspect yet. For highway driving, I like it. Decent ride- not a deluxe ride by any means but comfortable. Gets about 18 mpg. Power is adequate, the larger motor of the later models...
