Quarterly Training Day - July 19-20 Teachers/Volunteers needed

I am perfectly fine with that. Anything I have to share will be found in the Trip Reports subforum, so feel free to search there for threads I have started if you want to pick one. I agree. Okay, gotcha.

Quarterly Training Day - July 19-20 Teachers/Volunteers needed

Well, I have never been a powerpoint sort of guy. Perhaps I could print up something in advance and hand out paper copies, but other than that it would probably just be me talking. Are you serious about having a projector screen up there?

Just thought you all should know

Congratulations, Brian! Now I am looking forward to your inevitable thread about how to get your wife to go into labor. ;)

Quarterly Training Day - July 19-20 Teachers/Volunteers needed

I know you don't want to be teaching everything, but I personally don't feel very qualified to teach anybody about most of the topics listed above. My best bet--if you think I would be a good choice--is to talk about trip report writing/photography. Based on threads I have posted here, do you...

    Chrysler 300 4x4

I can tell you a bit about the current-gen Chrysler 300, yes. :) The 300's AWD system is available with both engines. Every AWD model will feature 19" alloy wheels and 235/55 tires--this means the system is primarily designed for snowy roads. As you would expect, the transfer case has a...

woman kills husband, herself while learning to park

I'm just guessing here, but that appears to be a full garage bay... meaning it has three interior walls. Maybe hubby was squished between the rear wall and the car?

    Jeep Advise on JK Jeeps

I did see one '07 JK 2dr here a few months back with 100k miles that had a rod knock. (It was traded to us for that exact reason, and we put a new engine in it and then sold it.) That was the only JK I have personally seen with major engine trouble, so I figured it was an isolated incident.

    Attn TJ owners!! Lift questions

That's certainly true. The "accepted" brands on WranglerForum are Currie, RE and OME. I've never visited that forum since I don't own a Rubicon.

installing a CB in the Suburban--it's giving me grief

Beats me. It was a small magnet-mount Uniden that I found in a pile of random stuff at my sister's house many years ago (I think it belonged to her ex-husband). In other words, it didn't break my heart to know it has a problem, and it didn't bother me one bit when I tossed it in the garbage.

installing a CB in the Suburban--it's giving me grief

SUCCESS! I am glad Ryan came over to help me perform a quick test, because it showed all the trouble was due to my faulty antenna. Now that I knew that, I went down to the Flying J in Springville and bought myself a shiny new Wilson "Little Wil" antenna. Once it was installed and I verified it...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

My progress pales in comparison to the above, but yesterday I finished adding the latest in trendy accessories to my Jeep: I need to service my battery terminals, so I didn't actually attach those two cables yet... but that's all that is left to do.

    Attn TJ owners!! Lift questions

I like the way you think. I feel that 35" tires are the perfect size for a dual-purpose TJ. I am going to give another strong endorsement for TeraFlex. I am running 35" tires on my TJ, and I have the TeraFlex 4" longarm system plus 1" of body lift: This is the second TJ I have owned...

Anybody recognize this XJ on 33s? I was curious if it belonged to anybody on RME.

Chrysler backs down, agrees to recall 1.56 million older-model Jeeps

Maybe Chrysler can send every ZJ owner a coupon for a free pack of Ballpark hot dogs.

    MOVIE REVIEW: Man Of Steel

What amazes me is this film has a 56% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. How is it so much higher than the critic approval rating for After Earth (a whopping 11%)?

Chrysler backs down, agrees to recall 1.56 million older-model Jeeps

In their press release, Chrysler mentioned that the hitch install would "better manage crash forces in low-speed impacts," not NHTSA. My comment was aimed at the web sites and alarmists who have been pushing for this recall. For example, there is a well-known web petition which was trying to...

    Jeep Clutch time..

x2 on not resurfacing the flywheel. Jeep officially suggests cleaning it up with some emery cloth; if it is too scored or damaged for that then replace it with a new one. My advice learned through recent experience: for the love of God, do NOT crack open the hydraulic system and replace only...

Chrysler backs down, agrees to recall 1.56 million older-model Jeeps

NEWSFLASH: if your vehicle is stopped and you get rear-ended by someone going 50+ MPH, your fuel tank might rupture. Stupid government safety asshats.

installing a CB in the Suburban--it's giving me grief

My almost-neighbor Ryan (dash) is going to let me use his antenna for testing; I just have to drive the Suburban over there and try it out.
