    Help! I created a monster

We ended up with about 8 1/4 inches of lift up front. I could drop it to 7 but my son doesn't want to give up his fancy ACOS adjustable bump stops that he paid a bunch for. It is spring over in the rear but this jeep was originally a two wheel drive which I think has 1 inch lower springs. We...

    Help! I created a monster

I put on chevy/waggy front rotors and calipers and I'll check to see if the xj ones would work. How long are the lines you have ? and how much would you need for them ?

    Help! I created a monster

Thanks for the links on the mixed packs. We are headed out to the junk yards this afternoon to see what we can find. My son in law has another set of comanche springs we could use so I'll have to look at those too. The problem with the comanches is that the springs are longer than XJ springs and...

    Help! I created a monster

Well my winter time project is hopefully coming to an end in time to hit Moab. My son and I have built up a narrowed HP 44 front from a 79 F250 and decided to make a long arm system while we were at it for his MJ. The front came out higher than I expected due to having to ride the spring...

whats the best front axel swap for the xj

We are in the middle of swapping a HP d44 from a 79 F250 into my son's Comanche. It takes lots of welding to make it work. We narrowed it to stock waggy width which required cutting off the knuckles and welding them back on. Also all of the brackets have to be welded on.

    Upper control arm flex joints

The size I need will depend on which joint I decide on. Currently the plan is to use 1" fine thread. The tube I have for the uppers is 1.625" x .25" wall DOM. I think I have enough 1.75x.25 DOM as well if I needed to use that instead. Both sizes are a bit overkill for upper arms from what I have...

    Upper control arm flex joints

I would like to see them and pick up some other parts I need also. Where are you located ? I'm going to need some of your custom tube inserts for my upper control arms as I have some DOM that my brother gave me that isn't a size that is on your list.

    Upper control arm flex joints

I am making some long arms and wanted opinions on the size of upper control arm flex joints. Rubicon sells a large joint and a small joint and from what I've seen they usually use the large type for the lower arms and the small type for the upper. Should I use that approach or use the large type...

    Chevy Suburban quad cab????

I saw a REALLY long suburban at Checkers one day and was looking at it when the owner came out an showed me what he had done to make it. He took a large Ryder moving van put a widened and stretched suburban body on it, then he added a stretched (to 12 feet) and widened dually truck bed on back...

    DaveB's 84 Scrambler

Well the top weighs a lot so I leave it on, plus I would sunburn my bald head. I tried hard to keep the classic look but make it a capable rig that is very reliable since we use it for lots of exploring in out of the way places. The newer fuel injected motor runs great with good mileage and...

    DaveB's 84 Scrambler

So far I have left it white which is cooler in the summer. I did shatter one of the sliding rear windows in Moab when it was 105 so I have put in custom tinted glass in the shell and that helps the temperatures even more. I also added rear shoulder seat belts to the roll cage for the rear occupants.

    cj8 Input

The steering column wasn't that bad but did require mounting it a bit higher than normal so the brake pedal would clear some of the switches. The S10 brake booster is a dual diaphragm design that works better than the stock power brake unit. It does require making a fairly simple custom mounting...
