I admit it: I need help tuning my CB radio antenna

Very well. I'll do this the first chance I get (which may not be for a few days) and report back with the results.

Other Region Upcoming Trip: Rubicon Trail Lake Tahoe, CA Sept 5-8th 2012

I'm not sure--I've never tried it in this Jeep. I'm willing to give it a shot, though. As soon as I have a free evening, I'll try to organize a (small) run to the snakes and find out. Don't get me wrong--I like the idea of lockers, and ultimately I plan to have selectables front and rear...

I admit it: I need help tuning my CB radio antenna

Okay, I'll remove it and scrape off both painted surfaces it touches, then reinstall it. Maybe I'll even get fancy and add a serrated lock washer on each side--think they might help?

I admit it: I need help tuning my CB radio antenna

Okay, I'm willing to accept this. From everything I've read on the subject, it seems likely. The TeraFlex bracket has a hole for you to drill into the Jeep's tub and insert a bolt and nut, supposedly to ground the bracket to the body. As Steve mentioned, there is paint involved--both on the...

I admit it: I need help tuning my CB radio antenna

I've got an old but reliable Uniden Pro510XL CB radio. I originally installed it in my Shelby Charger; it next saw use in my XJ Cherokee and, eventually, in four of the five TJ Wranglers I have owned (including my current one). In all this time, I have never attempted to tune any of my...

Other Region Upcoming Trip: Rubicon Trail Lake Tahoe, CA Sept 5-8th 2012

Since I started the other thread about this trip, I figure I am morally obligated to make it. :) For the moment, put me down as on the fence. I say this for two reasons: 1) I need to make sure I can get the time off of work. 2) My vehicle doesn't meet all of your proposed requirements...

    So this hole exists...

I edited my post; now Greg needs to do the same (where he quoted me). I tried sending him a PM, but his box is full....

    So this hole exists...

It's not like I posted the mailing address or the GPS coordinates of the place. ;)

You guys need to try harder. While poking around online, I found a photo of it:

    snakes, constrictor night run

Do you live on 2035 West? (I pass by there frequently and usually see an old CJ parked there.)

    Forest Lake/Mineral Basin 5/21

I totally should have gone with you. I had plans to run the snakes with a co-worker at 1:00, but he texted me at noon and cancelled. Having no one else to accompany me, I didn't go. People keep cancelling on me. I am 0 for 2 so far this year. :(. If I don't get some 4wd time soon, I may go...

    Electric fan.

The Ford fans have a shroud; it is integrated into the housing. Look again: That large squarish black housing is the shroud. You simply remove your stock fan and shroud and replace them both with this item. Simple.

    WHATS UP

Welcome to the club! No doubt. I keep threatening to make some of my own for my Jeep.

Welcome aboard! I'm not a Toyota guy, but you sure can't beat the price of your rig! I'll echo recommendations for a Forest Lake run up AF canyon since it is close to you. Make sure you take at least one more vehicle with you, though--that's rule #1. I hope to see you out on some trails.

    New here, first post

Welcome! Nice to see more Utah county members on here. Not sure how you found out about RME, but I'm glad you did--this will be a great resource for you (just as it is for the rest of us).

Today (Mon 4/30) afternoon or evening for RS--a last, desperate call for attendee(s)

Oh, well, it isn't happening. David will return to Texas with his 4WD virginity still intact. Maybe next time.

Today (Mon 4/30) afternoon or evening for RS--a last, desperate call for attendee(s)

In my other thread I was looking for anyone to accompany me so I can take an out-of-town family member on a simple ride through Rattlesnake (and maybe even show him WW and part of Constrictor depending on who else is there). The lack of availability was somewhat expected, seeing as how we were...

    Some new guy :)

I'm so glad to see you took me up on my suggestion of registering here. I admit I hang out on WF more than I do here, but nevertheless if you live in Utah and you want to get to know local 'wheelers then you simply cannot beat RME. Period. Good to have you here.
