I'll definitely agree that most don't get used for their intended purpose, which is sad. Making a 4Runner exo look good isn't easy and they can end up looking like a jungle gym, like you said. Also, you're kinda limited to what you can do, making them all look similar. Some are better...

Pro-exo: if your goal is to have a somewhat street legal, drive to the trail and back, "bad weather friendly", but want to wheel with the "trailered rigs" vehicle. Anti-exo: if it's merely cosmetic or to simply appear to be "extreme" or "hardcore". :squint:
