    Building a Bobber.

SOLD! I kinda miss this already. It was a riot, not particularly fast but comfy and smooth as silk on the road. I got a lot of looks for a how little I had into it. Maybe I'll do another come spring.

    I gambled and got burned!

I have absolutely no input except that my 2002 5.4L F250 ran perfect even when I sold it at 272,000 miles. The only motor related repair was a coil and plug that failed because the rubber hood seal leaked water into the spark plugs valley. I changed belts 2 times and hoses once as prevention...

    Ward Canyon

Only the first mile or so has any off camber stuff. It gets narrow again about 2 miles up. But the snow can be a factor if there is any more than a few inches. I go up it sometimes 2 times a week. Tight trees right now. I'd doubt anything less than a built rig with chains will go up right now.

Hard to tell from your photo.

    My work/tow rig... (constant changes)

The reason I was mentioning the diesel version of that truck as a better swap candidate is they have a terrible resale value---good for you and you won't have to swap gauges (Tacho specifically) and they have Hydroboost... a very nice feature if you're running boost and want your brakes to work...

    Quick pinion angle question

Even linked rears need the pinion a 2-3* below straight if they have a CV at the t-case and single joint at the pinion. The pinion will rise under torque even if you're running heims all the way around. Relocating the breather does exactly that. Also you can run a cup of ATF in the gear oil if...

The secrets of the 351W V8

Thanks for sharing. I always wondered how Ford was able to work their reverse witchcraft to make so little HP out of those 5.8L truck motors stock.
