I run air lockers front and rear in my CJ7. The only problem that i have had is that sometimes when the rear end is cold it does not fully engaged. Everybody says that should not happen.

I always do 70-75 mph everywhere I go with mine. Sway bars disconnected, 10 psi in the tires. It is on the trailer though. :)

As long as you know what you are getting into. It sounds like you are familar with diesels. Most people are not. My neighbor jumps in his 7.3, fires it up, It belches white smoke, and then rods the hell out of it. 7.3 requires coolant additive to prevent cavation.
