F-250 up to 1996 had the ttb. All of the super dutys have a solid axle. Super dutys were intruduced in 1998 as a 1999 model year. Most of the super dutys use a solid dana 50 up front. It looks identical to the dana 60 until you tear it down. All of the 1997 and older f-350's had a dana 60 in them.

The 7.4s are not bad. I have seen a couple low mileage motors loose bearings in the bottom end. I think alot of guys are disapionted with the power and poor mpgs. But it will have the 4l80 trans.

Just doing a little research found they have a twin turbo version of that motor that is available in the 200 series. Toyota has always screwed us out of the cool rigs that they produce. I was thinking twin turboed tundra.

That chevy should have bilstiens on it as part of the Z71 package. Shocks do not support weight(unless you get the old school overload shocks). Some shocks have different valving that may give a slighlty harsher ride. I would stay with a quality replacement shock Bilstiens, Monroe,etc. Not a...
