    diff covers

I have the Crane cover on my 60, I have to say its bombproof, Its taken some hard hits. My only problem with it is that I think the holes for the bolts are a little too big...I dunno if its common with other covers but seal it up and tighten it down and after a trail or two of hits it leaks. Not...

    4 Seater buggy pics

I couldn't agree more, most four seaters seem to come out huge with 120" wheelbases and look really cumbersome. Man that one is really clean!

    Cutting brakes

One lever to lock the front axle, one to lock the rear axle. Not sure about the Calrocks rigs, but from my experience this season, and believe me we've struggled with it, the guys in our class at least that can pivot the best lock up both rear brakes. The front lever is to lock the front axle...

    Cutting brakes

www.cncbrakes.com FWIW, I spot in the ProRock mod stock class, right now we have arbs and cutting brakes. Two levers that you pull up, each controls one wheel, and we have 4 wheel dics. Outside handle controls the drivers rear tire, etc. In theory with the rear axle disengaged and the locker...

How do you tell the difference between D60 and D61

FWIW, I am running a 61 in the rear of my 4runner, I installed 5.86 gears with 35 spline mosers and welded the diff. You have to get a certain carrier for the 61(I believe it was a 4.10 and higher(numerically lower)ratio and add a shim to it, Randy's R&P carries it, its steel and costs about 45...

    Exo

I have enjoyed the exo on my 4Runner, I've used it hard for a couple of years now. There are some really over-tubed exos out there, I think its really personal preference. I've liked mine, but I'm ready to move on. I think this winter its all getting cut off along with most of the body and its...

Where is best to put tie downs on trailer

I prefer to attach my runner down at the axles. I welded heavy d-rings at the 4 corners of my trailer. Straps go over the axle and clip onto the d-rings, they are on the steel corners on the deck, if that makes sense(wood deck).

    Seriously, dana 44 are stupid.

I will be happy to pick this up for someone, but you have to act TODAY! Its about 5 minutes from my house, about $150 less than I paid for my front 60!! Jeremy From the 4x4 sale section on www.colorado4x4.org

    Front Dana 60

When I bought mine, it was a passenger side from a chevy dually, for $700. I opted to upgrade several parts like the outers and hubs but aside from the calipers it needed nothing but a good cleaning. This was two months ago also.

60's are in, turned down hubs and all

got it out yesterday, I need to move the gas tank asap cause the driveshaft is clearancing it, and move the horsecollar crossmember above the rear driveshaft. Otherwise its way stable and stout. A little tweaking and adjusting here and there but its pretty sweet, and the 5.86...

    front d60 questions

not a throttle jockey, currently on 37" mtrs, will be at least 40" tsl's before EJS, hopefully 42's if I can get them to fit.... Not concerned about the strength, those 8 tabs are far beefier than anything on my old Toy axle.

    front d60 questions

Donovan at Ram Grinding in Wheat Ridge Colorado(just north of Denver) turned my hubs down for $100, and drilled the holes for 9/16 studs. This was all I had to do to mine. I checked into getting new hubs, etc. I couldn't see spending that much for new hubs when these are fine. He did a very...

    New longfields???

yup just like Greg said, no ring so better turn radius, also the balls and cage are not only new but treated as well for strength. I haven't needed new ones yet as my original ones haven't broken yet. I think its the best mod you can do to a Toyota front end outside of a locker!

    Locker choices

very dissapointing really, just a medium sized "pop," thats it. I'm running 37" MTR's, 200:1 or so gearing. I was hung on my belly, not really wedged at all. I wasn't really on the throttle too much. I'm usually pretty light on the gas. I've hit it A LOT harder than that before, just a fluky...

    Locker choices

FWIW, I've run 4.88's/detroits F&R for 5+ years and couldn't be happier with their performance...until I installed Bobby Long Birfields. I've run the Longs for a little over a year now, and I've had no breakage at all, I've run Upper Helldorado twice, Pritchett, Independence, all the Montrose...
